my thing is it looks like tepper is going out and finding this coaching staff, not the head coach that was hired. it's not going to end until this guy leaves.

Idzik, the rumored OC has been with Canales for a long time. It seems like the coach is picking his assistants, not Tepper.

  2. Joe Marino and Kyle Crabbs pitch their ideas to fix the Panthers. This was a good listen.

Joe pitches bringing in Slowik to bring in the Shannahan style offense for Bryce. Keep Burns and go after speed WRs to create separation.

Kyle pitches bringing in Canales and bringing in some big time receivers like Mike Evans

I think I prefer Joes pitch and bringing in Slowik but they both made good points.

further if Vrabel is able to bring in Arthur Smith at OC sign me up. Guy is a good offensive coordinator and there is obvious history and synergy there unlike the disaster that was this season

Plus, Smith would be less likely to leave. Not likely getting a head job anytime soon.

Panthers Head Coach future pulled off BetOnline. Probably refreshing odds based on news.

I put in a little bit of money at 18 to I odds for Canales before they pulled it which probably means he won't be hired.

If Brandon Brown comes with Mike Kafka HC & Shea Tierney OC, then that would be a big win & a signal Teppers are giving up football control.

Halaby seems more of a fit as a personal Harvard data analyst to the Teppers who would make the decisions from Halaby presentations. That would make me see the Carolina Panthers fully moving into the Carolina Appaloosas evolution. Hedge fund football at its finest collecting distressed players & coaches.

    My money's on Halaby.

You are making the assumption that the S2 score is the entire reason we drafted Bryce.  In the absence of any S2 score he probably would have still been drafted first based on what the scouting told them.

Also based on this thread it’s pretty clear that those that complain about analytics the most understand them the least.

Alos if we were so analytics driven we might not have considered Young at all.  His measurables alone make him an outlier based on analytic data.

Yes, I find it so strange to see so many anti analytics people on here. Analytics would have said no to Bryce based on his measurable. Bryce didn't get a RAS score because he didn't participate in the combine but it would have been low. It was the scouts that fell in love with Bryce.

I just don't think there's enough info out there to have confidence in Slowik.

I want us to hire "consistently good", not "small sample good".

Tepper may have too gamble with someone a year early to get who he wants.
