  1. This is even without mentioning that teams had to constantly respect the run game, and he was always in a position to know where he was going to go with the ball 90% of the time. This will never happen at the next level, and you are creating unrealistic expectations for a guy who has literally never been asked to do any of it.
  2. He had finished up his degree and was considering moving out of the business yes, but opted to stay when he got a promotion with in the organization. I try not to give up too much information about him in this day and age of technology.
  3. What's funny to me about Mac Jones is that last year people ripped Justin Herbert apart for having so many plays that were just dinks dunks and screens, where as that is about 80% of Mac Jones' game. The difference being that Mac Jones has none of the immense physical talent that Hebert had, and I have yet to see a game where Mac Jones put the game on his shoulders and carried the team, he never had to do it point blank period. He is very frustrating to watch on film due to how wide open his receivers constantly are, how much protection he gets, how the talent around him consistently gets chunk plays off of his constant screens and dump offs. Every now and then you see a NFL throw from him, his deep ball placement is quite good at times, but it is so sketchy and hard to find. There is not the physical tools needed to be able to guide a NFL team to success, there just isn't. At the end of the day he can process what is in front of him and dump it to playmakers, if that is what you want in a QB that is totally fine, and it can work in the NFL, but are you really going to invest a 1st round pick in something that you can get from a Andry Dalton, Nick Foles, etc etc etc? Seems highly unlikely to me. You are taking just as much risk in Mac Jones as you are in a Trey Lance with none of the upside, sure you get some stability in basic football intelligence and ball placement, but that doesn't really win by itself anymore. So is Mac Jones a top 50 player? Not really, no. Is he someone you can draft and put on a team with lots of talent and have him spread it to those playmakers? Yep, but it is not sustainable in the slightest and takes about two games of tape to figure you out.
  4. I watched a loooot of UNC RB tape. That dude is Kamara 2.0
  5. I'm like this close to dropping him below Mond. He has some really bad tape, and is hard as hell to evaluate. His ND game is what I'm watching literally right now and it is just...not good?
  6. This is based on my grades when I was scouting them, as in as they entered the draft. I flip flopped all year between Herbert and Tua. Most of the year Herbert was my locked in #1 overall pick, but Burrow kind of flipped all that on it's head. I ultimately decided on Tua over Hebert by the slightest of margins just because of release time and lack of questions about offensive design. I had a serious draft crush on Herbert though.

  8. I am in the minority here, but I don't really think Trey Lance will need to sit. He would certainly walk out day 1 better than Teddy.
  9. He certainly helped himself with his pro day. I have all the confidence in the world in Lance.
  10. Pretty weird for someone who Chris Simms thinks is a 2nd round pick at best
  11. Was doing some more WR watching today and found a neato little highlight tape of Rondale Moore. Very similar to Steve in his physicality, speed, and size.
  12. I think that is entirely dependent on what the Texans need in a deal and if we can meet them. We will damn sure outbid anyone, but if they want a young stud starting QB, that is not something we can provide. I still think we are the most likely to get him, but if they wake up tomorrow and say I want Zach Wilson or Tua 100% then we can't make that happen.
  13. I can quote myself from like three months ago. Deshaun Watson will not be a Texan and the Panthers are all in on Deshaun Watson. That's the update
  14. Uhhh I kind of doubt it at this point. I would move off the idea that he won't be on the team anymore unless it is to move him for Deshaun Watson.
  15. Yep. The restructure is odd, I will give you that. I was told he was "on the block"
  16. His final game reminded me a lot of Herbert's final game.
