To translate that: First round graded QBs typically are not getting out of the top 15. Unless you are some magic wizard GM from a movie, you are typically not hitting on something that everybody else misses. If you need a QB and have a 1st round grade on said QB, but did not take him in the 1st round then you are a moron.
-
If you have a first round grade on a QB that falls to the 2nd or 3rd you might be Marty Hurney trading up to draft Will Grier.
-
Yes I only made that post because I wanted to say Bootys.
-
So a lottery ticket. Better to get starters and depth then take a swing on a guy who isn't "your guy". For every Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson there is 10 John David Bootys.
-
If you aren't going to take a QB in round 1, why take one at all?
-
Have to get ahead of Detroit or Cinci if you want to guarantee you get a QB.
-
I'm not allowed to bet on here anymore because people owe me a lot of money and always back out and hide.

Sax's Panthers Plan (or reality?): Trey Lance | QB | NDSU
Verge replied to saX man's topic in Carolina Panthers
I doubt Dallas needs to move up. Lots of o-line and defense is going to fall in their lap. -
This QB situation will also ultimately be inevitable once the universe swallows itself into infinite darkness.
-
Technically nothing matters because we are in an infinitely expanding universe that we inherently cannot even grasp and within the history of time we are but a spec buried in the sands of space and time forever alone, forgotten, and insignificant.
-
After today it certainly might be. If you are willing to throw out this years first, 2022, 2023, and a couple of mid round picks that would be a good starting point.
-
I don't disagree, but Kyle Shannahan certainly seems to given the QBs he has been connected to and drafted lol

Yeah I completely believe you. Lance has been on our front offices radar for a while. Just a matter of ATL not taking him. -
I mean to be fair, when you push all your chips in to the middle for a player, you don't typically plan insurance for 16 sexual assault allegations.
-
Zach Wilson had the best pro day I have seen in a long time.
-
If Carolina likes both Lance and Fields they need to move up to Cinci's spot ASAP. If they do not, it is very telling.

Yep. I know they like Lance too, but as long as nothing wacky happens with Jones he is the guy. -

Kyle Shannahan knows who he wants, and when you know who you want, you go get your guy. -

Yep. They are comfortable with Mac Jones or Zach Wilson at that spot, can't really go wrong with either from their perspective. The wild card being Trey Lance I guess. Interviews still have to happen. -
I am not high on Mac Jones at all, I think it is a joke what these execs will convince themselves of sometimes. Hey, he definitely fits Kyle Shannahans high tempo offense though, it was built for Mac Jones really.
-
So the draft starts at Atlanta. Do they take Fields/Lance? If so we would immediately need to jump to Cinci to get our guy, which I believe at this point in the process is Lance.

So based on what I was just texted I think it plays out like this 1. Jax: Trevor Lawrence 2. NYJ: Zach Wilson 3. SF: Mac Jones 4. ATL: Justin Fields So Lance still likely in the picture for us. Yes, my guy said they did indeed trade up for Mac Jones.
