  1. Isn't the Washington Generals the team that always plays the Globetrotters? If so, copyright? I'd think folks might get a bit confused with that one.
  2. After looking at that room, I'm highly doubting she even has a social/sex life... well, I guess there's kinks of all types, but I digress...
  3. Because some people just can't help but trumpet their own cultural bias to the rest of the world. It's a bit sad, but I've learned to just ignore it myself for the most part. For me, I couldn't care a whit less what Cam wears to the podium, so long as he's true to himself and free to be who he wants to be. More power to him, and to anyone who is brave enough to express themselves in a positive manner, however it is they want to. Last I checked, whatever level of flamboyancy he decides to display won't truly be harmful to anything, other than maybe to those poor pearls clutched by folks who deem it to be 'not the norm' as they're crushed in ire.
  4. I wonder what that's like... must be nice.
  5. They have these people called optometrists. I'm thinking that might help here... maybe? Eh, probably not though.
  6. Nah, if that were the case Slye would have been on IR the past two seasons.
  7. Same for me. Started watching when I was a toddler (Mom said it was about the only thing that would shut me up for hours on Sundays, lol). Supported them through the firing of Landry, even though that one stung, but enjoyed Johnson a lot though as his replacement. Then the firing, the drug rings and rape scandals, the overbearing owner coming into his own as a complete prick, and the complete lack of remorse for any of it. It was too much for me, so I gave up on that shithole of a team and needed to pick a new one. Still glad I decided to go NFC and the Panthers, because being a Jags fan is just... masochistic. That's what I'm guessing at least.
  8. I read them as this: 1. Pie - I agree 2. Beer - I really agree and would buy you a beer IRL 3. The D - I agree and find this topic/response sexy too (no, I will not swing your way @TheSpecialJuan!) 4. Poo - This is crap, you're crap, your post is crap, and you should feel like crap for posting it too... crap 5. Flame - Your post should be burning in the lowest pits of hell right next to falcons fans, ambulance chasers, and your eternal soul, you heathen! I'm pretty certain that last one is wrong, but it's how I read it, so I never flame anyone's posts. Not even the guys with 100+ troll alts on here.
  9. There was a "welcome to Charlotte" video for Horn out there, I think on the Panthers website. You should watch it - worth seeing how his dad is decked out.
  10. Should have made the switch to LT back then permanent. It's general consensus is that it's easier to find a good RT than a good LT, and he showed he had the skills to step up well and develop. Too bad he had a coach who was pretty bad about putting the right players in the right spots (unless injury forced him to). Just think, if we had pulled the trigger, he might have an elite rating on the left side right now.
  11. I think there's a minimum post count or something now of 100 posts before you can start your own thread. It's been forever ago since I joined this joint, so not really sure the exact number. @rayzor - can you help confirm please?
  12. Since when did Alaina start confusing 'worth watching' with 'non-existent'?
  13. X-Clown is the #1, like a lot folks have said. It was such a roller coaster of emotions watching that game, and in the end that play was almost cathartic to watch. Simply amazing from start to finish and St Louis was one of the toughest places to play in that time. Another one that is still a favorite of mine, which @pantherclaw alluded to that most of the younger generation may not remember or even know about, is the playoff beatdown we gave the Cowboys back in 97. All week long they'd been running their mouths about how they would easily run over the speedbump in Carolina, and their Coach Swizzlestick even went so far as to say he "had never traveled this far South for a playoff game." Complete disrespect for the team, its fans, and the area as a whole. So you can imagine how much fun it was to break their Superbowl dynasty like we did. During the game, Irvin broke his collarbone after being tackled by Lathon and I can't remember who did it, but watching Neon Deion get knocked out cold was kind of satisfying, as he'd been running his mouth since his days with Atlanta non-stop. It was pretty much a landmark victory that put our team on the map, and made for one heck of a proud moment for us brand spanking new Panther fans. Great game and one of my favorites for sure. Here's an article about the game I found interesting and well-written: https://247sports.com/nfl/carolina-panthers/Article/1996-Panthers-playoff-win-Cowboys-121442075/
  14. You and me both. Give the guys you hired your wants/asks, let them figure out how to deliver best.
  15. I'm pretty positive he knows what's best for his business is to let the guys he hired do their jobs. The man knows how to make money. I'm also of the belief he will have some input into the selection process, and not to degree of Snyder/Jones levels. More like, I'd really like us to grab a QB to solidify our offensive core the next few years by doing so, rather than naming specific players or draft spots. Some of the huddlers are making it out that he's handing out his big board memo and telling Fitts and Rhule to just follow it, no questions asked or something. I just don't see that from him or his personality as being the way he runs things. Suggestions and asks for what the plan is, yes.. absolute domineering on decisions, not so much.
  16. Sorry guys, but where in that article does it state Tepper is 110% lock-controlling the pick? The author just mentioned that he's stated he wants to throw resources at the QB spot - that's it. You could make the argument that he has done that by having Fitts trade for Darnold. I also don't quite get the whole idea of a person owning and managing their own business being somehow 'meddlesome.' It's their toy to play with how they want. If that's an issue for you, you're welcome to go buy your own toy too. I personally would love to see Fields as our pick. I am doubtful he would land at #8, because too many other teams need a QB and most likely are willing to leapfrog us for one, but I can still be hopeful. Grabbing Darnold lets us adjust our draft as necessary, and gives another option for camp if we do draft Fields, who we could sit a few years. Once he's ready, we could then trade Darnold for more resources. I was big on grabbing an OT earlier this year too, but just because we picked up a QB in FA doesn't mean we should automatically grab an LT in the draft R1. There's plenty of good players in the 2nd-3rd rounds this year for OL. I think it's very likely, depending on who falls where, that we pick QB 1st and OT 2nd, because the reverse just doesn't have the same value. If we decide to pass on a potential franchise QB in the draft and roll with Darnold only, you halve your chances of finally getting that QB spot right, which has been stated by our BMOC is a top priority. Therefore, I just don't see us passing on Fields if he's there.
  17. Looks amazing! I'd be stoked if I were in Carolina to go, especially if I could score some of those club tickets. Very cool that they have the entrance to the pitch going through there.
  18. With the draft as deep as it is with OL this year, nothing says we can't still take Fields at 8 if he's there and still pick up a good to great OT in the second round plus an OG in the third. If TB manages to work a miracle and finds a trade partner for his services or even if we can't offload him to elsewhere, we could pick Fields at 8, and have him sit the year behind a hopefully much improved Darnold to learn our system. Then next camp, throw it to open competition, and see who wins. If it's Fields, great, we made a good pick at 8 this year and we could shop Darnold to another QB needy team (there's always a few every year). If not, then he sits for another year and learns more until he's ready to take over the reins. Odd man out with this would be Grier, and I don't believe anyone besides his immediate family would give a poo anymore if he's tossed. Not saying this will happen or even that it's likely to, but it is still a possibility (and to me, a smart one, should we go this route). Luck of the draft will tell us more.
  19. Out of all the top prospects, Fields looks the best to me, and I'd be thrilled if we somehow managed to snag him. He's the guy that I'd be ok moving up a couple of spots for to ensure we snag him. If he's gone, stay pat and grab one of the top LTs instead, and hope we have enough draft capital next year to go up and get our QB of the future then. If no LTs are there at that point, do the best we can to trade down and get more picks if possible (most folks seem to forget that teams have to want to trade up too).
  20. I'd rather we replaced Zach Kerr with Zach Kerr than this.
  21. Shut up, Brooks... we need the Niner's to take him ahead of us to get one of the others to fall to our spot, or at least a spot that's easier to trade for. Don't go scaring them off the kid!
  22. And here's the video explaining why...sort of. https://www.nfl.com/videos/zierlein-why-i-can-see-panthers-trading-up-for-trey-lance Basically just states we're building out the process and trading up to grab a QB makes sense w/TB still here so they can sit the new guy a year. Doesn't really explain why Lance over Fields or Wilson though (or why Atlanta would be stupid to trade to a div rival), which is kind of a big portion of what an analyst is supposed to do. So, a mix of unexplained conclusion and blatantly obvious takes.. not really impressed.
  23. Cool, I stopped being lazy and just figured it out. Linky below: https://www.nfl.com/news/lance-zierlein-2021-nfl-mock-draft-2-0-how-does-the-first-wave-of-free-agency-im None of their 'draft analysts' have ever really impressed me, but this one does make for some interesting and laughable material for sure. Thanks LP!
  24. So, who the hell is Zierlein, and why should I care what this obvious fool is saying again? (Not a shot at LP in the slightest. I'm sure you put it here for us to be shocked by and subsequently laugh at this clown, just no idea who this person is)
