  1. I did take some pics. Figured that would be useful. Losing weight wasn't necessarily what I wanted so I'm not so sure it's a good thing or not.
  2. How do I know if I'm losing fat or muscle? I've lost 4 lbs in the past 2 weeks. I have a scale that shows body fat % but it's all over the board with me so I don't trust ie: yesterday it said i was at 18% and today I'm at 20%. Few weeks ago I was at 22% and it's shown me at 17% before which i don't believe. So i don't really trust that. I am eating less calories (maybe 1400-1700 per day), very few bad carbs, practically no sugar and lots of protein. I'm going heavier with weights, but have reduced my extreme cardio workouts which include a ton of push ups (knee problems). Still working out about 45-60 mins a day 6-7 days a week cardio and weights. I have very little fat to lose (not trying to be braggy) but it's there, I can see it on my inner back thighs and outter butt, in certain lighting i can see the cellulite, so I know I've still got some fat to lose and i'm really trying to get it gone. I hear that stuffs a bitch to get rid of and it doesn't bother me that much but I'd like to attempt to get it gone. Any opinions or suggestions to help out?
  3. Like I said in a previous post, I'm reducing my sugar intake. Haven't had a sweet in over a week which is amazing for me because I eat them almost daily. I just realized I stopped craving something sweet days ago. Best of all I have reduced my child's sugar intake to under 30 grams a day, except on Sunday when I allowed him two small brownies. Max amount recommended for kids has been hard to determine, every source I read is different, however reducing it dramatically was my goal and so far so good. Breakfast has been a pain in the ass though.
  4. Maybe so, It's more of a tone thing then size. I think if I lost a small layer of fat i'd have one of those rather muscley bootys which is what I really want.
  5. Speaking of my husband, Holy poo he is getting huge. He takes off his shirt and I'm turn into a babbling fool. I'm tryin to complement him and I'm just speechless. It's fuging awesome Going on 14 years of marriage and i never expected him to buff up like this. So while getting in shape for yourself is likely enough motivation, If you're needing a little more don't forget how awesome it is for your significant other.
  6. I'm not sure. I think I have as much muscle as I did, my stomach is looking more ripped. I always lose in my stomach why not my ass?!!!!!!!
  7. So since I;ve been watching my sugar intake I've lost three pounds.wtf
  8. So i'm on a reducing sugar kick. I've been reading about it and trying to reduce my sons sugar intake which is harder than one would think. I watched the documentary last night called Fed Up and I'm going to put more effort into it for myself and my son.
  9. Question: The middle upper part of my back is sore (trap and neck muscles) and feels tight. I'm thinking it has to do with squating with heavier dumbells, My question is, do you think that's a sign of bad form with my back and shoulders or is that typical when making a weight change? Tempted to up my squats to 60lbs but my knee still feels shakey when I squat.
  10. Well after my workout I did several varieties of squats with 40lbs, 3 sets of 12 reps. Felt fine. May do it a few more times before moving up to 50lbs.
  11. I'm not really wanting to look like the lady in the top pick. Don't get me wrong she is attracitve it's just not my thing. Thanks for the tips. I use to lift more while doing squats when I went to the gym. I don't know why I've never really uped my weight doing squats however my workouts are more fast paced and higher reps. I'll do a few extra sets of squats after my workout with 40lbs. and see how the ol knees hold up. thanks
  12. Also I go light on weights when I squat. Like 2 10 lb dumbells. Should I be trying to up that? Seems light to me.
  13. Question: I keep reading that I should be lifting heavier because it helps burn more fat and that I wont bulk up anymore because I don't have the testosterone. Anyone here agree or disagree? Also remember, recently my arms have gained more muscle than I like, so I'm already bigger than I care to be
  14. That's exactly what my husband and I did to achieve pull ups, chins ups etc.
  15. Oh yeah, at this point with a brief break in plank i can do 60. and thanks My workouts include a LOT of pushups. edit: ok just verified, at this moment with a brief break in plank I can do 52. 30 straight then I need to catch my breathe.
  16. Hard to put a number on it. I can only go off my experience I went from not being able to do one standard push up to easily popping out a set of 20 in less than 2 months.
  17. If your body can do it, I'd wait to eat. Just my opinion. How long are your workouts?
  18. This is from an article I posted a few weeks ago.
  19. Could you take a laptop to your apartment gym?
  20. Do you think so even if I tore just the meniscus (small)? It swells up just a little on the around my knee cap, inner leg.
  21. My plan is to do everything I can possibly do before forking out the $$$ to see if I've torn something. It's a horrible pain under my knee cap.
  22. My right knee is being a little bitch again. I'm still working out but modifying like crazy when doing lunges and squats. I'm also trying to choose workouts with very few lunges and squats. I did yoga last night and took it easy but my knee was actually hurting afterwards whenever it was bent and i straightened it out. As much as I don't want to I may just not work out at all for 2-3 weeks, ice it like crazy and take naproxen every 4 hours. Good luck with Gamma
  23. My favorite tricep exercise is the chair dip.
