  1. I guess that depends on one's theology. But I believe he can't stop it without men and women willing to co-labor with him to help solve an issue we caused. The harvest is plentiful, laborers are few and all that... Yeah, i think that's why he said something about God telling him to lead her. Perhaps he's implying that there's some steps he can help her take toward salvation. idk
  2. God rarely speaks in the context of conscience. Most people know right or wrong. He doesn't tend to remind us. He mostly speaks in guidance or just developing intimacy/building a relationship. The more time you spend with him the easier it tends to be to discern his voice. I'd say about seventy percent of the time I think it's God's voice, it's my own thoughts. But the other thirty percent of the time, I wouldn't trade for anything.
  3. I wasnt speaking in regard to RW specifically. But in speaking about him, I have no idea if he's sincere or not. But I'd say praying doesn't mean everything will workout, particularly when another person is involved like it is in marriage. As far as knowing if it's Gods voice or not, that comes down to how intimate you are with him, how close is the relationship. I'd know my niece's voice in a crowd of thousands, I have a relationship with her. God can be the same way ideally, there's always times when a person isn't sure, especially if it's something you don't want to do.
  4. from a non-Christian perspective I get and have heard that. I was replying to Mr. Scot who said he's been a Christian for forty years. As a fellow Christian I found his comment peculiar.
  5. from a Christian perspective, I'm absolutely serious. Hearing Gods voice is a bedrock of the faith. Why worship a God you can't communicate with? With communication there's no relationship, without relationship there's no intimacy, without intimacy there's no point.
  6. Really? Deciding who to marry is probably the biggest decision a person can make. How could you not (if you're a Christian) spend time in prayer about it? Russell Wilson doesn't mean that he heard an audible voice. 999 times out of a thousand when a Christian says that heard God speak it wasnt an audible voice.
  7. He sounds like he knows what he's talking about. I just never saw him before.
  8. Who's the black guy on the ESPN panel? And b4 asks me why I'm watching ESPN's draft coverage, well, I'm afraid if I turn to the NFL network we'll draft a bust. I've watched it on ESPN since Cam.
  9. So let get this straight: I've heard one and only one criticism of Shaq: he's has bad instincts. Let's assume this is the case. Is that it? Anything else? We're picking 25 not 1. We won't have the perfect player. They're gonna have flaws. And it seems to me that he only has one, and not everyone agrees that he even has bad instincts.
  10. Deandre Smelter. 6-2 226, DT clone, went to the same school, GT. Fell due to injury.
  11. We already have a lot of young players contributing on our team, I can see Gettlemen not wanting to add 9 more rookies, plus UDFA. Also a lot of folks are saying that there's a big drop off in talent somewhere in the teens, if Gettlemen buys that I could see him moving up. I'd give up our 1st, 3rd, and 5th to move up for Cooper, not sure who else though.
  12. Man I know Peat has all the measurables, but from what I've heard and the little I've seen, he ends up on the ground way too much for a top 20 pick.
  13. I may be off on this, but it seems to me, undoubtedly due to busts in times past, that speed, and specifically 40 timed speed, is starting to be underrated. For years and years it was overrated, a lot of that was due to Al Davis and his drafting, was due to drooling over how fast a player could run in his underwear, and other things. In response to this overrating of 40 times, it seems we (fans, scouts, GM's) have started to go the other way. Five years ago If Perriman runs a 4.2 he goes from fringe first rounder to at least being picked somewhere between 15-20. That's silly. This year, he's still a fringe first rounder. Despite all this talk he hasn't moved up. If anything this 4.2 has hurt him. "Well he doesn't look this fast on tape" "who cares that he's fast, he can't catch". This is also silly, not equally silly perhaps, but silly nonetheless. He ran a 4.2. It's not a huge deal, but it's a big one. It's shouldn't put him in the top 20, but it should put him in the first. The reason he's not moved up is because GM's are scared. And I get it. Who wants to draft the next Ted Ginn, Stephen Hill, DHB etc? He's a fast WR with Questionable hands: he could be Stephen Hill, but he could be Torrey Smith, who many on this board were clamoring for. He could be DHB or he could be Mike Wallace, who in times past many on this board was clamoring for. Who knows. I certainly don't, but I did want to take the time to say to Breshard Perriman, congrats, you ran a 4.2, that's still something special in my book, and I get the sense that Al Davis is somewhere with two thumbs up, agreeing with me.
  14. Gettlemen is a disciple of Ernie Acorsi, who didn't like taking Offensive Lineman in the first, he believed Lineman were the easiet position group to coach up. The belief was you could take an Offensive Lineman with "average talent" and coach him up by working on his technique and other things and get him to the "good" level, but with other positions it's a lot harder. Therefore we'll take one of these others positions in the first (because first round picks are the most developed and complete players) and take an offensive lineman later. All that being said I don't think Gettlemen holds this philosophy as strongly as his mentor. I think he wouldn't hesitate to take Peat if he was there. In fact someone on this board mentioned that last year had Miami not taken Juwan James ahead of us he would have been our pick. And to answer OP; I would choose Perriman, but I think the Panthers would choose Peat.
  15. Speaking of Captain...he, CJ, and KK were at Cosmos together last Friday... Didn't know me from Adam but were still mad cool.
  16. The only way for me to decide is to figure out who has the biggest weaknesses James-- none, but he's the oldest with only few years left in his prime. Curry-- before last year had a bit of an injury issue with ankles. How will 3pt shooting translate in playoffs. Durant -- killer instinct? Does killer instinct even matter or is it overrated? Westbrook -- selfish? Has the biggest alpha dog mentality but can go too far Harden -- defense, gets to FT line a lot and refs tend to swallow whistle in playoffs... U guys are severely overrating him tho (he's carried the team without Dwight) Davis -- too passive? Can he be a dog? Didn't matter for Duncan... George -- how will he look coming off injury -- can disappear at times. So from here on out I'll go... Davis Westbrook Curry James Durant Harden George

  18. We'll continue to draft BPA. If it happens to be a DE, we'll be just fine.
  19. That makes sense, and I've thought about this in the past, "so and so is a D-coordinator so he should be able to work with inferior defensive talent and make them respectable, all the while we're stack up on O which is his weakness." On the flip side you can give a D-coordinator defensive talent, and have the potential to be dominant on that side of the ball and run the ball and control the clock on O. I guess there not one way to do it. As far as the Jets, their downfall was the QB position, but we already have that, we just don't have the O talent around him which I don't think we need if our D is dominant.
  20. We've given him Luke, Star, KK, and Ealy. A great D is a quarterback 2nd best friend (behind O-line)
  21. I see what you're saying, it's just a difference of philosophy. I prefer the way we're building. The Colts are stacking their O, we're stacking our D. I happen to be biased towards defense.
  22. Do I think Cam could use another offensive weapon or two? Sure. But to me, a QB's best weapon is a dominant defense. Stewart and the offensive line, IMO, was the second biggest reason for our turn around. The biggest reason was the return of our top 5 D. Keep the D strong, if you do, you keep the Panthers strong. You keep the panthers strong, Cam will have success... To add, as far as drafting, I don't mean to ignore the offense and only draft on D. I'm a big BPA guy. This is just for those looking for us to spend big money of offensive skill positions in free agency because Cam "needs weapons". That's a no no, IMO.
  23. I'm mad late, but this thread is comedy gold. Like my dude said, that box made him go to sleep..with the lights on too lol
  24. The reason is it was such a bad call has more to do with the down than the distance. It was second down at the 3ish yd line with Lynch. You don't pass that yo
