  1. Others are saying that Bryce could have run for the first down on that 3rd and one. That's what i was thinking as well seeing it live. Or at least tried.
  2. I agree - gotta throw that. I'm suspecting he was thinking it was 3rd and two so find someone just past the sticks rather than launching it, but you gotta launch that.
  3. There was nothing either way. The D-end on that side didn't collapse toward the running back.
  4. Well if we do go on a win streak we don't have to worry about half the posters complaining about it because of lowering our draft position.
  5. I dont have an issue with people being out on Bryce as a franchise guy. If youve seen enough, you've seen enough. My only contention is it's too early to call him a bust taking into account the lack of talent around him. There's a difference between not being a franchise guy and being a bust imo.
  6. Got happy feet expecting the rush to cave on him quick. Got stuck on one particular read in his progression and totally missed Thielin flash open. Saw Thielin late and threw to him but by the then the defender recovered and almost picked it off. Bad play and rep by Bryce. No defending it.
  7. I get the lack of arm strength and agree, it's a concern. I've seen his lack of pocket awareness here and there, and I've also seen him have good pocket awareness here and there. This particular trait is a wait and see for me. It's a lot easier to have good pocket awareness when you consistently have a pocket you can be aware in. Bryce has a had very little of that with this offensive line.
  8. He's the closest I came up with as well, that said he had some let's say "average to above average" offensive skill position talent on that team. Not overall offensive talent because his offensive line was trash. But he's skill position talent wasn't half bad that first year. Higgins, Mixon and Boyd. I'd certainly take them over what we have. But my point is, in this league it is very very hard to be a good QB with bad weapons. A good QB on a bad team, yes, your defense could just suck, we see that all the time, but when you have nothing around you on offense, you are usually not going to perform good. Lastly I do understand the "flashes" argument. That even with trash weapons, offensive line and coaches, someone who is elite/good would still show flashes. I agree, which is why although I've defended Bryce, I'm not sold on him being the guy 100%.
  9. Bobby Slowik. Houston O'Coordinator. Shanahan disciple. His disciples seem to have pretty good success elsewhere, unlike Reid and Belicheik disciples. Mike McDaniel Mike Lafluer Sean McVay And now Demeco Ryans, although he's on the defensive side of the ball.
  10. What does a good QB on a bad team look like? And does that bad team have bad weapons on offense or just like a bad defense?
  11. Bryce may or may not be a bust, but I think firing Reich was the right move. Their were several things independent of Bryce or close to independent that was a cause for concern. The regression of the Oline - No running game Bad game management Lack of offensive innovation. Would CJ Stroud cover up a lot of these issues? Of course. But he would be held back. We'd be in the situation we were in prior where we had this young dynamic QB in Cam, held back by an average head coach. I would have waited to the year was over, but in my mind, Reich wasn't the guy.
  12. I might agree with you if he had a whole bunch of success in Indy. Fact of the matter is, the reasons why that fanbase was eager to rid themselves of Frank are rearing their ugly heads here. Lack of innovation. Stale offense, lack of movement - motion, etc. If Frank got C.J. like he wanted instead of Bryce, would we be better right now? Sure. C.J. is undoubtedly better. But we'd also be deriding Frank for not getting the best out of CJ like we did Ron Rivera and Shula Cam's entire time here.
  13. I'm not sure if they are aware you need both - both time and an open receiver.
  14. I know we scored but I hate that play call on 4th and 2. Especially considering theyve been stuffing us all game. Frank aint it.
  15. I cant belieeve that play call worked. If he had gotten stopped...oh boy.
  16. Its not that we cant run the ball, thats one thing. We keep going negative!!
  17. Yeah I think there was leg on leg contact there making him down by contact.
  18. So it seems the only notably success Reich has had offensively in the NFL was in 2017. He was offensive coordinator on that Carson Wentz/Nick Foles team that won the superbowl. Anyone know if that offense was notably creative and innovative? Or was it mainly because of overwhelming talent like us in 2015? Also did Reich even call plays? Because Doug Pederson was the head coach and I believe he calls plays on offense?
  19. Yeah I think they have better weapons than us, but they are still bottom of the league. C.J. is the key there. He makes playing QB look easy.
  20. Not sure I agree, but it's certainly a resonable take. I suppose your argument would continue that Tank Dell's success is due to CJ Stroud and that if Mingo were in Houston he would be putting up similar numbers as Tank is now? Doubtful, but okay. Not sure what you do with TE. Schultz, prior to CJ Stroud, had 3 years better than Hayden Hursts best year. He's just notably better than Hurst.
  21. Hard disagree. CJ Stroud isn't working with top tier weapons no doubt, but they are notably better than ours imo.
  22. Gotta disagree -- let's say Addison is below Thielin, I don't buy it but sure. Hockenson is the 3rd best TE in football to me. At worst 4th if you still rank Kittle High. Overall not a bad answer though. At least you answered. The only one I thought of that was close was NE. But I think Kendrick Bourne would be the number 1 here and I like Hunter Henry more than Hurst.
