Training Camp for 7/30/2024 (first padded practice!)
thennek replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Every time I see the name Jack Plummer.....I think of Jake Plummer. He is not related but it would great if Jack turned into Jake and we use a good ole QB battle next year. -
If Young is not it, having him continue to play just to lose games does the Panthers no good. They already had the number one pick….and they chose Young. The best QB is not always the number one pick.
-
Another question is will Tepper allow the coaches to make the decision of playing Young or not. Last year we heard stories of coaches wanting to bench Young….and that never happened. But we do know Frank, the QB coach and the RB coach were fired. to answer the original OP question: I think it depends on how the rest of the team looks. If it’s the quarterback holding the team back, I think they pull him. They have to start building a winning culture. This team needs to learn how to win in the NFL. In addition Young needs to learn how to be a leader. I really hope he can overcome what we all saw last year but I have a lot of doubts.

Well the past 5-years that is about all the Panthers roster was….bottom.
-
5-12. Bryce Young- hoping for the best but prepared for the worst. I think we could end up seeing a lot of Dalton this year.
-
Unfortunately The Panthers have bigger problems then RB. Plus I do not think this is a huge surprise.
-
This thing is not going to improve soon. The past five years have been brutal for this franchise. The amount of draft pick giveaways and free agent errors and trading our best players away have led to a poor roster . Nobody knows if Morgan and Canales can turn this ship around but one thing I do know that if Tepper continues to meddle and Influences football decisions this team will continue to be the worst in the league.

Will the Panthers be better than most are expecting?
thennek replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
Already a lot of good answers. I will add a new one….it depends on how our QB plays. I would also say that winning 5-6 games is still a really bad football team. -
A joint Practice. Reminds me of Frank Alexander.

The most success this team had in the past 5+ years was when they ran a heavy run offense with Sam Darnold as the QB when Wilks took over. They have to start somewhere and build an identity. They also have to do this to protect Bryce Young. He clearly is not ready to run a pass first offense. I have my doubts about whether or not Bryce is it, but if we run a run heavy offense, we will find out if he be the “point guard”- LOL or not.

Panthers ranked as NFL's 2nd-worst roster
thennek replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Until the Panthers start winning they are going to be ranked last on just about everything. The past 5-years has been that bad. Winning cures and hides a lot of problems. I mean the Teddy Bridgewater led 2020 team was probably the best Panthers team since the Cam era ended and that is really sad -
And if Bryce is not it, the next QB has weapons

Is Fitterer with the Rams now? Seems like his kind of trade
-
Now we need the Rams to have a terrible year so the 2nd is a high 2nd.
-
Other than Luvu what free agent players did Fitterer sign that were any good? He did not draft well and did not sign good players either. One reason why the Panthers have been terrible the past 4+ years.

Karl used to post on the Huddle…Big Hank
-
I hope you are right! He is a much needed piece of the puzzle.

Was thinking the same. Have the opportunity to play with the Hall of Fame quarterback leading your team. Or play on team that won two games last year and has been in constant disarray since 2018.
-
Correct which is why the Panthers need to keep drafting/bringing in young QB’s to develop to take over when Young expects to be paid. Maybe the days of having a QB for 8-10 years are over due to the costs associated with doing that……unless they are legit like a Mahomes, Rodger’s, Manning, Brees and etc.

This is on Tepper.

Seifarts parting gift was the 2001 draft: Morgan in the 1st, Jenkins in the 2nd and 89 in the 3rd.
