  1. If Rhule was smart he would try to get fired collect the remaining money on his guaranteed contract and then land another college coaching job. He has to know by now he is not a good fit in NFL.
  2. Maybe he is already fired but we just can’t see it.
  3. If Rhule does not trade it away this year to do something stupid.
  4. Let’s hope McAdoo is a part of the “picking the QB” process and Rhule listens to a guy who has worked with two future Hall of Famers. The Panthers already are stuck with a project QB in Sam and don’t need another project.
  5. It has been said that Hurney wanted to trade up to get Herbert in 2020 and was voted down because they did not want to give up picks. No telling if this is true or not but thought it was interesting that Fitts mentioned Herbert. Hurney certainly had his faults and stayed way past his time, but he did get Jake, Matt Moore (great backup career and undrafted) and Cam. Obviously Jimmy was a bust but I believe it when I hear Hurney wanted Herbert. We got Brown instead.
  6. Maybe the Panthers will have an NFL offense this year vs a hodgepodge of inconsistency. If McAdoo and Campen are running the offense there may be a slight glimmer of hope. Maybe the Panthers can win in spite of Rhule.
  7. I think the Panthers are pretty much stuck with Sam at least for this next season. So the one thing I want to see is lots of competition. Bring in young guys with potential and bring in aging vets…all on one-year contracts and let the best man win. No more giving up draft picks to find a QB. Everyone can agree trading for Sam and giving him the 5th year was a mistake. However, I think handing him the job with no competition or having a viable back up was an equally bad decision. Hopefully they have learned from this mistake but we will soon find out.
  8. Stupid question but I have always wondered the answer. If a player agreed to cancel his contract, and sign a new one would a team still be responsible for the old contract as it relates to the cap? Specific to the Panthers- what if Sam agreed to take $9m vs the $18m owed to him? Most would ask why would he do this? The answer is he probably would not. However, knowing that the Panthers may be his last chance to prove he is an NFL QB, he might be willing to reduce his cap to be a team player and also so they could get sign some oline help and etc. In other words, Sam would be betting on himself and I would say he does have something to prove. I get that this has about a 1% chance of happening but was curious how it would impact the cap.
  9. Let’s hope the Panthers include McAdoo in picking the next QB. I have to believe if he had been the OC last year we would not have Sam right now.
  10. I wonder if McAdoo had been the OC or QB coach last year if he would have been able to convince the decision makers not to trade for Sam and/or the 5th year option. If the Panthers had just rolled with Teddy, this team would be in a much better position right now with both space cap and draft picks (#38 pick for Sam is gone).
  11. I would say Tepper has grounds for termination without pay IF Rhule truly is interviewing and openly discussing these other opportunities with the team. We don’t know if any of this is true but this would be conduct detrimental to team building and therefore seems Tepper could legally fire hire without paying the rest of the contract.
  12. That is a first class seat…you can tell by the picture. Unfortunately I have flown way too much….
  13. If they wanted a MLB why didn’t they pick Parsons at #8 instead of Horn? Having a stud MLB is more value to a team then a “above average corner” for a myriad of reasons. Horn will be good but if you can’t stop the run a “shutdown corner” no longer exists in today’s NFL.
  14. Darrell Williams….starting RG for the Bills. Big Mistake letting him go…
  15. But would he have been as good with the Panthers? Maybe they would have played him at LG instead of his ideal location. Or maybe they would have played Slater in a different position every week. Brady was played in 4-different positions this year. Nobody could be successful like that. I still think one of the reasons (certainly not the only) the Oline was bad was due to a bad scheme. A bad scheme makes even the best players look bad. The entire offense was terrible and out of sink.
  16. Don’t be saying these good things about Davis Mills. Rhule may see it and give up the 2022 #1, #4, and two 6’s for the guy along with the 2023 #1.
  17. He kind of reminds me of when Greg Schiano was Tampa’s HC.
  18. Brady was supposedly a rock star and did not even last through his second season. Remember after year one, he was interviewing for HC jobs? That guy sure did fall fast. Was he overrated or was he not provided the tools to be successful?
  19. Good question LP. I think the Panthers thought they made the moves to address the OL and DL this past offseason but they were miserably wrong. This to me is what tells me these guys do not know what they are doing. Most could see the OL was going to be a problem before the season started so how could a highly paid NFL coach not see it?
  20. Adam Gase….Get Sam back to where he was with the Jets would be an improvement. LOL and yes I am joking.
  21. What makes anyone think he would stay healthy as a WR and/or playing in the slot?
  22. Not that Teddy was “the answer” but the offense looked significantly better last year. And he would have been a good “bridge QB” for a young guy to learn from. I bet Rhule did not like Teddy because he was questioning how the offense and team was being run and that is why he is gone.
  23. Tepper is a lousy owner. I think Rhule stays. Guess that means we all need to find another hobby
