Ask Tepper…

I do not think Canales is allowed to make that decision.

Or Plummer!

And still kept DJ and the other draft picks given up

Notebook: Panthers want to "see what we got" at OLB
thennek replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
Maybe they should give Peppers, Rucker and Johnson a call. Seems like the Panthers overlooked this position. Terrible signings of Wonnum and Chaisson as the answers. -
Well that is concerning….what a terrible signing DJ Wonnum turned out to be. The guy is signed in the off season to be a starter and is not ready to play. Waste of money….

This roster will look different in a few days after the Panthers pick up some new players from waivers. There will be some guys cut to make room.....

Panthers Greatest 1-year Wonders List
thennek replied to Dingo_ate_Babies's topic in Carolina Panthers
Shayne Graham was a very good PK for the Panthers and filled in when Kasay was hurt 1-year. Had a solid career with the Bengals. His sister would sometimes post on the Huddle when he played for the Panthers. Panthers-sis or something like that was her name. -

Vinny Testaverde -
It really all points to Tepper. Not just because of the poor product his team puts on the field, but the Rock Hill fiasco, moving away from grass fields, how he pursued Deshaun Watson, and how he clearly meddles in football decisions. Each year his team gets worse.....it starts at the top.

Agree with all of these....was just thinking about how many of these were Hurney picks.

Injuries begin to stack up after joint practice with Jets

What is the deal with so many groin and hamstring injuries? These guys not stretching properly or something? This is crazy. -
Jordan Matthews is one of the surprises of camp. I did not realize he is 32 and has not really done much in his 10-year career. He is working hard to make this team, and in limited pre-season action he looked good. Be interesting to see if the Panthers keep him over another 'younger' TE. This offense needs leaders and he seems to be one....

I have a feeling that if Bryce does not start showing 'growth', we will see Dalton in the middle part/end part of the season. This team needs to start learning to win, and the Panthers need to be able to effectively evaluate other positions for the 2025 season. If the Panthers start 0-4, it is going to get ugly but let's hope this does not happen.

Panthers Practice August 12: Compliment Sandwich Edition
thennek replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Picking top 5 does the Panthers no good. The Panthers had a top 5 pick last year.....and they picked Young. -

is the practice field grass? It sure looks like it. The stadium's field is still turf, which sucks. Grass is another term for Marijuana, or Jazz Cabbage as I liked to call it back in my heyday at the local dispensary. -
If Tepper continues to meddle the Panthers will continue to make stupid decisions and continue to be a losing franchise. There have been so many bad decisions made the past 6 years it is really hard to remember all of them. I really hope Morgan stands up to Tepper. How they are handling Young right now makes me wonder if Tepper is really letting his football people make decisions. When Frank was here for a very brief period, he said Tepper was very involved.

Plummer has not looked terrible…some solid passes.

Know Your Foe: New England Patriots
thennek replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
2002: John Fox was the Panthers first time/first year HC where he inherited a listless Seifart 1-15 squad. I remember him saying that he wanted to win the preseason games to gain confidence and to experience 'how to win'...even with backups. In 2002 the Panthers went to a surprising 7-9 record, and the next year....Super Bowl. Now, Canales inherited a listless 2-15 team that does not know how to win. Playing practice scrimmages did not work for the Sam Darnold led Panthers a few years ago. I would have liked to see the Panthers play Young to get some game time experience in front of a hostile crowd....and gain some confidence before going into the season opener. Young has a lot to prove this year, and sitting him for preseason cannot do anything to improve his situation. -
Bryce Young won't play in preseason opener

This reminds me of when Sam Darnold did not play much in preseason. Gotta wonder if this is a Tepper thing... -
Ian Rapoport on Bryce: "Everyone had Bryce Young #1"

Especially when they could have traded Burns to the Bears instead. And kept DJ....how many WR's have they brought in since they traded DJ and they still have not replaced him. -
