  1. Joscott is a beast. 250x2 on last set of bench today and that was after 230x6 twice... Wanted to brag on him some, boy is getting strong... More impressive is that he's 8 feet tall with long arms too...

  3. That's one of the truest things I've ever seen about the gym... I avoid the lockerroom in general, but everytime I've ever been in there, some old guy is sitting buck ass naked in there... creeps me out.

  5. That's a bigass ship ^. That's off Nobby's Beach in Newcastle Australia. I just looked it up... the ship was beached by a large storm in 2007.
  6. That's pretty much what I do. Usually start with compound movements... try not to do the same workout twice in a row (different exercises and order) and don't do a whole lot of isolation work. I guess my goal has always been kind of general fitness... never really been into bodybuilding or strength, but kind of a combo of both...

I certainly don't consider myself a beginner, but I could also stand to learn a lot as well. weight is 215, age is 40 and lift #'s" DL: 420 1RM Bench: 300 1RM Leg Press Machine: 20 plates, roughly equivalent to a 450 squat, 5 reps. Don't squat much because of limited ROM in my left shoulder. Hard to hold the bar on. Looks like a good book, I'll check it out.
  8. No I meant like specifically what lifts... sorry. I've seen some of the crossfit stuff but never done it. Edit: Yeah, like how much weight is that on the squat?
  9. Hey Fiz, I'm curious... you seem to be pretty into fitness and lifting, what other exercises do you do and what are your weights?
  10. I just looked it up... I guess that makes sense that you're a little closer to the floor. Might try it.
  11. I may go up from that, but we'll see. 420 is only 10 lbs short of double my bw. You're at more than 2.5x your body weight, that's pretty impressive. I'd have to go up another 100lbs to hit that. Won't be anytime soon I don't think, but then again I've really only gotten serious about deadlifting in the last 8 months or so. Also, what's with people dl'ing with no shoes on...? Does that help somehow?
  12. Deadlift again yesterday and bested my current max. Tried 370 again and got 4 so decided to add 50 and go for it, did 420x1 for my last set. It was heavy but not as bad as I had thought it would be. I'm content now with reaching 400+lbs.
