  2. He is kinda skinny with arms so maybe... lol Today and tomorrow will probably be ridiculously crowded... We'll see I guess. My back is still tweaking a bit so I may hit the chiro today... That should fix it.
  3. Was a dude in our gym Friday doing chest and grunting very loudly. Many people were staring. He's a decent kid and a Panthers fan too, but I admit it was a tad over-the-top. I did my highest deadlift yet with 435 Friday. Was easier than I expected. I've been wanting to get up to 2X my bodyweight since the first time I did 400. Me and Joscott did legs today and I tweaked my damned lower back on the third set of squats... Put a little too much weight on one leg stepping back from the rack and I felt my sacroiliac tweak... It's tight as hell now...

  5. I don't use collars on bench... but I also don't do more weight than I can without a competent spotter...
  6. Yeah, yeah... me too... depends on their attitude or if they appear likely to hurt themselves. Two guys in there the other day doing bench... they were apparently doing some sort of reverse pyramid thing on bench... I've seen 'em before trying to get 315 and failing miserably.... well the other day they had 275 on, the one guy did one rep and got about half way up and couldn't get it... his "spotter" grabs the bar with one hand and then the right side gets caught on the benches rack and the bar goes up on the other side and the weights start sliding off... at this point the "spotter" grabs it with both hands with a horrified look on his face and yanks it up (it's still caught) and the weights continue to slide... He realized in was hung just in time and got it re-racked before the plates slipped off... they were both freaked out... I watched the entire thing and just shook my head. They continued on with their whack ass 1 rep bench press then did some bicep curls...

  8. I've stated multiple times in this thread alone, it's not the weight, it's the form. You can get a hell of a workout with lighter weights if you keep strict form and do the exercises correctly. I've taken that... it's fine... creatine is creatine pretty much. It definitely works.

  11. lol... true. Yesterday wasn't as bad as I expected... I think the "real" New Years Resolution crowd waits until next Monday... today will tell. Everybody doing well? I've been hitting it pretty hard even though I felt a little sick/cold starting this weekend... that Airborne poo is the BOMB. Knocked it right out. Set a few personal records lately... 420x4 on the deadlift last Thurs. 5 plates (45's) on the T-bar row with Joscott Sunday before our epic season ending beatdown of the Failcons. I'm calling that 250lbs, (close enough) 295x2 yesterday on flat bench press with Joscott and he got 245x6 (both on our 5th set) I tried 315 for 1 and got stuck... first time I've even tried it though so... Leg day today, yay.
  12. Happy Christmas and all of that Huddler workout peeps... Did legs yesterday and I can hardly walk today... did some stuff I don't normally do... Shoulder day today, about to leave the office for a little mini vacation/holiday...
  13. This has become my Sunday routine... get up, eat, hit the gym about 10 and kill it... go home, shower just in time to veg in front of football for about 10 hours. I'm anxious today because of the game at 1. Ready for it to get started. Leg day today... stopped by my office to check something and charge my earbuds...
  14. There's a whole playlist thread around here somewhere... I mainly listen to Deftones and the like... harder stuff to get me going...
