  1. My dad did that for almost 30 years... never did understand how. That would suck for me, honestly don't think I could do it.
  2. Honestly at your level of fitness your weight is pretty irrelevant. I would like to lose a few % points of bodyfat myself, but I couldn't care less what I actually weigh. I've been hovering around 215 for about 2 years, only now I have more muscle and less fat than I did both when I was heavier and lighter. After my surgery I almost hit 230 in 2011... then I got it down to below 210 in mid 2012... now that I'm at 215 and fit, I'm much happier with my body than I was at either of the other weights.
  3. Only way to know that cat that I know of is to test your bodyfat %. Unless the loss is noticeable to the eye... or take progress pics.
  4. More deadlifts yesterday... it's so hot in the gym right now... ugh... I got 455 x5, first time I've done that... 500x1 goes up pretty easy now... Tried 550 again, didn't get it up to but about mid-shin, which isn't as good as last time... literally felt like my eyes were going to pop out... We had a good workout tho... did some sumos and some rack pulls up to 365 after the deads. Back is feeling it this morning.

  12. Deads again today... My Monday lift while all the bros do chest... It's hot as a monkeys balls right now in my gym... Those fugers need to turn the damn air down. Did my usual sets but ended with 520 today instead of 500. Trying to push to get up to 550.
  13. Could be more that you were just tensing up those muscles because it's a little heavier than you're used to...

  15. Well I kind of need a goal other than just lifting everyday... my original goal was 1200 and I got there... so I'm aiming a little higher. I mean, in all reality it's good, but it's not like elite or anything. Based on everything I've read, I'm well in to the "advanced" category for my weigh (215 currently) but I know there are a lot of stronger guys out there in my weight class. Plus, as has been pointed out by the huddle peanut gallery more than once, I'm pretty fuging old compared to a lot of the guys in here (and to most of the guys I work out with), so... I kind of like showing those young 25 year olds how to deadlift heavy poo.
  16. I've never sniffed 600.... most I ever did back in the day was 405. I'd like to get up to at least 455 now... maybe 500, but it's just so damned dangerous idk if I'll try it or not. I'd really like to hit 1400lbs on dead/squat/bench combined. Right now I'm at 1230 lbs. My bench is relatively weak compared to the others... I think I can get to 450 squat and 550 deadlift this summer. I don't see me getting to 400 on the bench tho, so that's probably out.
  17. Quite a few guys in my gym dead and squat in socks. For deads it let's you lift the bar about 1 inch less from the ground.
