Yep... C4 is good but I build up a tolerance quickly. After about two weeks I need two scoops.

Depends on the kind of ice... sleet or rain that comes down, wets the trees and then freezes is BAD. Ice like we had two weeks ago, that just sticks on the ground is a pain for a day or two, then goes away...

Also just to clarify my previous post... Joscott is a muscle head.

I mean I don't think there's anything "wrong" with PF. I wouldn't personally go there based on what I've heard about them and frankly their commercials are offensive to me... I mean I get it that there are condescending muscle heads in some gyms and people can be intimidated by that, but they play on that a little too hard imo. There are certainly muscle heads in my gym no question, but honestly the people that are the biggest assholes are definitely not the muscle heads... it's the people that have zero gym etiquette who are generally people are who just assholes all the time anyway.

I don't think we're getting anything this time over this way...

Food tempts the hell out of me, I like it too much. Planet Fitness as a business model is genius. As a "gym" not so much. I know guys that have been told not to come back because they don't "fit" the Planet Fitness profile... ie, they work out too much.

Somebody posted some of these on fb today...

That doesn't sound good... I've never seen any bruising, but when I do squats or machine presses both of my knees hurt like a bitch right above the kneecap... just stretching out I guess. Might want to have that checked out...

I mean having not seen you lift I can't say for sure, but I don't see why not? When I started dead lifting I didn't have a goal in mind but I knew it was a great overall strength exercise so I watched a few YouTube video to check my form and put it in my weekly rotation. For a long time I just did four sets, 135, 185, 225, 225. Then I moved the fourth to 265 after a couple of months, and eventually to 315. Once I was comfortable with 315 at least 6 reps I moved up again. I've just been adding sets now to go up in weight. Yesterday I did 135x10, 185x8, 225x6, 265x6, 315x5, 365x4, 405x3, 455x2, 500x1. Just like with every thing else, form is key, strength will come...

Maybe we do need a separate thread for that... I start out at 135 too and work my way up when I do it. If I just jumped on 315 or higher I'm sure I'd hurt myself. It's taken me a while, at least a year to get up to 500. For a long time I didn't go higher than 225.

That's pretty much what the one at our gym looks like. Speaking of deadlift... I did them yesterday and finally had the balls to try 500lbs. Got it for 1 rep pretty easily. Onward and upward I suppose.

Is this what you're talking about? Our gym has one, but I've never used it. I picked it up one time and I think that'd hurt my shoulders with the wide grip.

Yeah I do the mixed grip always have... I can see your point about straps... Never really mattered but I'm getting to the point weight wise where I Can see where being able to simply let go is helpful if the pull doesn't go well...
