  1. You sure you posted this in the right thread? #CrimingWhileWhite
  2. My son, who is a freshman at NC State made this one today... he's bored waiting on his exams to start...
  3. My kids are too old for this one to work on the wife but I highly recommend it to some of you...
  4. Badass 77 year old grandma powerlifter... https://www.yahoo.com/health/this-77-year-old-grandma-can-deadlift-215-pounds-104096786097.html
  5. idk, I heard you were going to start at LT for the Panthers next week.
  6. I mean a lot of really big time power lifters are a lot like NFL linemen... just big freaking guys, with big guts that are really strong. The strongest guy (by far) in my gym is a dude named Byron... 6'3", 340, looks like a lumberjack... now he has muscles, and you can see them, but he's not cut by any standard definition... he's just a beast of a man. I'm honestly kind of afraid that he may get hungry one day and eat one of us... dude is massive.
  7. Yeah I mean basically what Fiz said... I started lifting to do just that really... to maintain weight and look better, build muscle... Then it kind of morphed into powerlifting... before my shoulder surgery in 2010 I worked out a good bit, but wasn't too serious and didn't have a very good plan. When I finally recovered from my shoulder surgery to the point that I could start lifting again, I was 38 years old and figured that if I was going to fully recover and not lapse into a fat guy sitting in a chair all day everyday, I'd better get serious. I started reading stuff online, watching videos about exercises and correct technique and really changing the way I worked out. Once I was 100% again with my shoulder, I hooked up with some guys in my gym and it morphed into more power lifting... I discovered that I was pretty good at certain lifts and stronger than most guys my size so it kind of went from there. Fiz is right... I definitely see changes from lifting heavy... some in appearance but most in just overall "feeling better"... now that I workout heavy compound lifts like deadlift and squat, my lower back is much, much better (both pain wise and just feeling confident about doing things) than it's ever been. Almost everyone in my entire family has back trouble, especially around the age that I am now, and I think I'm avoiding most of that by keeping my back strong. I have to be honest tho, some of it is just that's it's damned cool to pick up some heavy poo that other people just can't...
  8. So if my math is right, I gotta push 510 to roll with you. Phew, that's heavy... I'll get there. Honestly I think my legs can handle it, I'm worried more about my back. ...and what'd u pull on deads, 504? I got to get up to 580... Not there yet either... I'm ready to try 550 again, I'm pretty sure I can pull it now... I've pulled 500 even x 2 last set the last three times I've deaded, just haven't gone up from that.
  9. That's impressive Fiz. 440 is a lot of weight. I've yet to attempt anything above 405 on a back squat... maybe I'll be inspired next time to try 425 or even 455. ty
  10. Those three should mix OK... I felt really tight this morning but got up and went and deadlifted anyway... Now I feel better.
  11. Seriously how are they going to have a game Sunday? The players can't practice (or so I've seen on the news sites) and is it going to get warm enough to melt the snow by then?
  12. Dude, I can't even imagine these people up in NY state... holy crap... 70" of snow in like 3 days.
