It's a concern but it's week one for him too. He's young. This team is young. Let's remember this before we devolve into magma level takes, hm?

22. Sam looked Solid. Took some big boy hits in the pocket but got the ball out. D looked great. LBs are average but everything else is stepping up. But this team goes as far as 22 goes. We're this years Titans.

Donte Jackson playing like he deserves an extension

Remember when we had this same discussion with James? Peppridge farm remembers. This is the same Djax we get when he's healthy. The same one we got at the end of last season. He's still gonna get burned sometimes. That's his playstyle. But his coverage has been superb when healthy. -
There was one player I absolutely detested in the 2015 draft was Funchess. 6'4, moving from TE to WR where he couldn't outrun college guys, and was lanky as fug so couldn't even move back to TE. And we drafted him. And we traded up for it. I never took as much copium for any player as I did for fuging Devin Funchess. Every season he'd win my "fug this guy in particular" award (last year it belonged to Whitehead) but every offseason I'd delude myself into thinking "Nah he'll get it together this season!" only for the cycle to fuging repeat. Imagine, just imagine if we stayed pat in the 2015 draft and take, say, Tyler Lockett because Gettleman's headass didn't think Cam couldn't hit anything shorter than 6'3. Imagine SB50 with Lockett instead of Funch because remember even Corey "Philly" Brown was cookin Talib's bitch ass that game. I fuging hate this franchise.

Add another name to the list of Jet’s for players out for the year

We're a way more talented team, and I expect us to win and will be disappointed if we lose. But goddamn the takes here will be absolutely hilarious if we lose. -
6'4, plays like he's 5'9. say what you will but at least when KB tried he put up results.
-
I mean he's starting up to a half next week. I doubt the lack of playing time these past two games will amount to much.
-
I'm gonna keep pounding the "correlation =/= causation" drums here as there are a myriad of reasons a team can start off slow, happens all the time around the league, but go off
-
He was targeted on that 2nd/3rd and long on the drive after the int. No breathing room and even with a decently placed ball showed excellent timing and quick hands to deflect the ball and force an incompletion. yeah yeah scrub qb and likely scrub wr but technique is technique, and Horn showed excellent technique there.

Still fugin' insane we got Brown in the 6th. I know he was heavy but goddamn he is a man. I'm not expecting him to look great this year but give him a season of nfl conditioning.

Still worried about our redzone, but i don't think any of the looks on the goal line were very pass friendly. Sam looked okay. A bit jittery but didn't panic. Our D-line has depth for days. Luvu has been a pleasant surprise, could be our Kerr this year. And it also seems like we can have some faith in some of our developmental corners in STO and Taylor. Terrance Marshall and Shi Smith are good WRs. I wouldn't be surprised to see David Moore become the odd man out. My hot take is Tremble would become the Chinn of this season among the fanbase. Dude is just violent. Steve was good but a little awkward. I think he has a little bit of trouble filtering his takes from Steve Smith take to commentator take, that all said, I hope he sticks around for preseason games. It's a treat to hear his takes.

i mean honestly it really just sounds like his version of doing a lap it's a sign and the teams slogan. who really cares?

Carolina Panthers - Baltimore Ravens Joint Practice 2

He just needs to learn better hand usage, he's a nutso athlete and can by with that while he's young. Wish he got some time under KK. -
this is the player i wanted to see on defense respond quickly after a rough start -- and it looks like he did So stoked for this young man. First time we took a guy i was heavily watching in the first and I couldn't be happier.

There's no proof causation of what happened in 15 because I promise you could check the play time for our starters in other seasons and watch us come out the cate looking out of sync and sloppy. But either way, my point isn't "We have a Cam and Greg on our team." when I'm bringing them up. Lemme know when you get past that and you catch up with the debate. -

History's been changing a lot. "Veterans only" sitting across the league are turning into starters, most times regardless of age. And with the nfl still pushing for 18 we're probably gonna get cut down to 2 games. And with that a lot of teams are willing to take their lumps in early regular season -- we've seen teams recover from 0-1. 0-2 and even 0-3 starts more and more. This is just the way things are trending. It's why you're seeing more and more joint practices. Preasons seems to be more for last call back roster eval than ironing the kinks out. -

just like your reading comprehension. My point in bringing up Cam and Greg was for the sole purpose of saying "preseason didn't make 15 Cam and Greg still woulda fuged up poo." 15 was talent and luck personified for us. My entire argument is Preseason doesn't make a difference. We're still gonna be a sloppy team. We're still gonna make mistakes. We're still gonna look young. Only difference is I can look at the bigger picture and not have a neculare take if we lose week 1 while this message board will be shoulders deep in Fields' ass and calling fort he head of Rhule's entire family. I don't care if we look like poo week 1. It's week 1 of 17. I don't think the risk of injury (which is real. which is why you see less and less starters playing these meaningless games across the league) is worth it at all when we're getting training in practice. And Rhule seems to think the same. wowza, -
it's really funny seeing some people in here not understanding "Good players having bad days" since those same people judge their entire emotional state on the team based on whatever tweet they read last.

yeah i'll blame on us being a young team i promise you playing 2 drives against the ravens wouldn't change that. It didn't change poo in 15. 15 was the Greg and Cam show with the Defense playing lights out. -
you're arguing with yourself here mate
-
but what if it was the receivers fault and not Sam's?

One of our starters was literally udfa rookie Corey "Philly" Brown. Terrance Marshall played in the preseason game so that's a wash. Mike Tolbert and CAP were the starting backs that game. The only "Vets" on offense that started that was a week 1 starter were Cam and Ted. Cotch did not play. Stew had 2 carries. And to top it all off -- who cares its preseason. Cam was 4-10 that game with an Int. Cam has always been poo in preseason. But hey since we're talking about past history remember 2019 when our starting QB played in the preseason then got hurt on the first possession. Yeah me too. Wonder why Rhule prefers a controlled area for his team to build synergy. -
eh. I still see picks like Devin and Ealy (though that might be because I had higher expectations for both) as worse picks. It was nice at the time to draft a T who at least one time was held in high regard and wasn't from some Div.II college. Sucks but I've been mad about worse picks in the 2nd.

Newsflash - no matter what happens in TC and Preseason it will never match the intensity of actual stakes on the line Regular Season Football. No matter what happens in camp, doesn't matter if Rhule had the starters play every down, we will still have kinks to work out, and we will still be the youngest team in the nfl. 10-15 snaps against the Colts/Ravens second team won't change that. Playing an entire half against their third stringers and bubble players absolutely won't. -

Brody you just said the starters need to play the entire half. in the 2nd preseason game. Nah that's a hoot right there.
