I agree, but like I said 2011 was a different time. Watched that game two years ago. Cam saw coverages mobile QBs no longer see coming into the league. You can't really compare the situations.
-
In the games he's played in if you unclench your ass and stop being hyperbolic.
-
And how many 400 yard passing games did cam have his first two games? Like look at the coverages he saw in those first two games lol, defenses had no idea how to defend athletes like that then. Yeah Cam continued to be good, but it wasn't because of what we saw in the in those two games. Who cares what Chud was a coach, he was a good OC in 2011.
-
Nope. But I really don't care in the long run as long as he's a good QB. Which he has shown flashes of.
-
or if he wasn't held it would've been on a dime. idk what you're getting at. the only reason Chark was behind because he wasn't in full stride.
-
I don't care that he's not taking deep shots every play, when he's taken deep shots it's either A - been super tight coverage and I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt that the timing was off or it'd be a tough catch (I think it was his 2nd or 3rd preseason game a throw into tight coverage to Thielien) or B - been a near miss (if Chark doesn't get held that's a catch). It's his 3rd game. What concerns me is that he's not taking chances into tight windows. Yes our receivers suck at getting separation but there's times where he should give our receivers a shot. Bryce is a rhythm passer, and he takes deep shots when there's a MU he likes. We have done nothing too often to put our matchups in great spots. Chark's deep catch last week is the type of deep shot Bryce is gonna have to learn to take, you act like Dalton is a cannon arm QB. He just doesn't give a fug. He's been around the block a long time, he made a career goin "fug it Green's down there somehwere" so yeah, he knows how to throw jump balls into tight windows. That was not his playstyle at TCU. That was something he had to learn. And that's something we're going to have to hope our QB can learn too. But it's his third game and he has zero chemistry or trust in his WRs. Standing pat on the "Yeah he's a rookie but we're not supporting him as a staff too tough" take. It's year 1. The fourm is always gonna go the "GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER" take no matter the pick.

One is a 14 year vet playing with nothing to lose or gain the other has played 3 games.
-
we're screening because we keep getting blitzed and we can't run the ball and when we attempt deeper passes we aren't getting separation save AT. Yes Bryce needs to hit tighter windows but we'll see if that'll come with time. If you think it's an excuse to say our receivers don't get a ton of seperation I'd love to be proven wrong.

Cam was 1-3 in his first 3 starts. Cam had Steve Smith who was still a capable receiver for 4 more years after that in the NFL. Cam had Jeremy Shcokey and Greg Olsen. Cam had Deangelo Williams And JStew. We also had Chud who season as OC was so good that he got a head coaching gig that year. Miss me with that poo.

Yes and they have actual coaching staff with good playcallers around them to help hide or minimize their rookie mistakes (which they have both made) We are not helping Bryce much. At all.

Ickey has been. Frustratingly lost sometimes. Seems like the game moves to fast sometimes and he just wants to go hit smoothing far too often. He also can't hold his own against technique on the edge. Might be time to look at kicking him inside. It might help our run game too.

Coaching MATTERS… DJ Moore is being misused… gives me hope for Bryce

watch the film lol he should have. Way more tbh -
hah but no seriously thanks for a great write up mate

Please god anything but this. This is egregiously bad.

Yes. And if you are an nfl coach are you going to take your time, you staffs time, and Donte's time on the clock really drilling in the nuances of tackling and trying to hit the root of the cause of why he proceeds to treat himself like a human missile. Or are you going to take all those people's time getting him down to the nuances of the scheme, coverges and his responsibilities in an entirely new defensive scheme all while coming off of a major injury? Like if you're not a D-lineman/Edgerusher your only jobs are to tackle and cover. This is akin to getting mad 8-12 years ago when LBs were only kinda okay at covering.
-
he did. he's just not great at it.
-
Not a huge part. No one in their right mind is signing mDJax-- or most any 5'11 cover corner -- to tackle. It's not to be a tackler. There's a reason OCs scheme for the free man to be the corner on outside runs. No I totally get it. I just think it's such a weak thing to bitch abt. It's frustrating, and I'm sure coaches have tried to fix it, but he's a good play otherwise and I promise you this is not an issue exclusive to him. At least it's a corner back and not a starting LB like some teams field.
-
oh no my 5'11 corner isn't the best tackler let's cut him
-
So that Xavier Woods signing yeah? Best S we've had in a long time and it's not close.
-
winning cures all ales man. be a lot less griping if we pull of a W on sunday. At least save the anger til we see more of the product on the field tomorrow s'all i'm saying.
-
If we win Monday...there'll be two 1-1 teams in the division. Crazy right?
-

I've honestly tempered my expectations for the season when our GM publicly came out and told us to. Defense is ballin but the offense is playing like a unit that is brand new. That said, I don't the Saints are as good as some have made them out to be, that defense is old, but I also don't know who covers Olave so we'll see.
-
Not even close to the same offense as last year save the o-line. Losing D.J. and replacing his value with an oft injured wr and and old injured wr has been the biggest change. We also have a rookie QB. Say what you will abt Sam but at least at the end of last season he was playing he knew what he could and couldn't do.
