Fair, I tuned out before then and didn't see this play. That said I still think TMJ showing anything is good. It was never his play that was a problem, it was his health.
-
He's done more than Shi Smith has on any drive in one game. Like be critical, but people can be happy that our 2nd round WR showed something none of our other WRs have - the ability to create some separation against man.

I’m definitely aboard the Demeco Ryans for HC bandwagon
Rags replied to panthersgreenville's topic in Carolina Panthers
I like Ryans because we already have talent on that side of the ball and our offense is a mess. I'm not saying Dorsey'll burn out here/in the nf but we don't have an Allen/Diggs combo or anything close to it. Moore could maybe be our Davis but even then, there's far more room for poo to go wrong. Aren't there any promising OCs or he could poach off of the 49ers talented offensive staff or smth? -
If we're really having this discussion -- That's more on the advancement and availability of film technology now. Random twitter nobodies can figure out that pre snap you could tell if it was a run or pass by how his foot moves, I'm sure Dan Orlovsky, a former NFL player, can figure out things. Rhule is incompetent, McAdoo hasn't really schemed up anything Baker's comfortable with, but I don't think Rhule is the one person in NFL -- coach, player, otherwise -- who hasn't realized Baker Mayfield stares down WRs.
-
ur right i'm sure rhule never told Baker once to stop telegraphing his throws.
-
I really do think it's our personnel, namely our receiving core that hurts the play calling a lot. But that said there's enough talent here that we should be able to move the ball better than we have. Baker's blown chunks but the Derp hasn't helped him much either.

it is astonishing how a multi billon dollar company has such a terrible app and website in the year 2022.

Saints traded away their 1st round pick to the Eagles. I'm not saying this wasn't an ugly win, but internally the Saints feel they can compete.
-
Concerning with a physical DB like Horn as our #1, but I don't think he got flagged this pre season. But yeah, no, this is great. More control for the zebras. What every fan wants.
-
I mean he's a 5th round player, you can do better than Nixon sure but back of the roster depth that only comes in when a player is spelled or hurt? I don't think it's "incompetence" if he stuck on the roster, it's not like we haven't been trying to address the DE depth most of this offseason.
-
It does tho Nixion was their guy if they didn't find someone they liked more as their emergency rotational piece at End/UT. Then they signed Anderson, who is now our rotational piece and End/UT. Much more proven than our 2nd year 5th round guy.

Panthers trade for wide receiver Laviska Shenault
Rags replied to joemac's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dope. Great trade then. Shenault is likely to be better than any 6th/7th in those drafts, or at the very least is a better prospect than most. -
Not just mobility, it will also fug with how you throw. He can't plant well. That's also hurting him a lot.

Panthers trade for wide receiver Laviska Shenault

i don't know how much more patience the FO and Staff have in him, but I agree. Espcially if we try to use Viska to replace him. I just don't see this as writing on the wall for him with this trade. -
Panthers trade for wide receiver Laviska Shenault

Yeah. Cutting or trading TMJ leaves us with a void at outside receiver depth, Viska doesn't solve this. -

Still wanna know the price, but big bodied slot guy who's smart isn't a bad thing to have on this roster. He's more proven than Shi just incase Shi's momentum doesn't carry over to the regular season, and as Panthers fans we should be thankful. How many middle round-late round WRs have balled out in camp for us only to disappear for 16 games? TMJ, Higgins, Shi and Shenault isn't bad depth behind D.J. and Robby. -
Maybe? I know Baker's listed at 6'1 but I remember him being closer to 5'11-6'0 around the draft, which would be the same height that P.J. is listed. Thing is some QBs can play short, others can't. I don't think P.J. is one of those guys.
-
He's not wrong. He shows good pre snap communication, I've always been a little impressed by it save for the false start the other evening. That said, it's everything post sanp (plus I think his height doesn't help, that 1st int against the pats I think an o-lineman blocked his line of sight lol) that makes me concerned.
-
He said the exact same thing abt Ickey right before he gave him the starting job. How is that throwing him under the bus by saying "He has more work to do"? I get you like Corral but goddamn man.

Tommy Sweeny. No idea why i said Swain I had. A horrible brain fart. That said Tommy Sweeny is NOT a young developing TE, cheaper option yeah. But he's been in the NFL for 3 years and is already 27. He's on the last year of his contract and had 9 catches last year. And a quick search on Quintin Morris shows he's an udfa last year. We have two developing TEs in Tremble and Sullivan by that logic. O.J.'s getting cut, after being a back up the past 3 years, he could not make it as a back up for a team that would like extra TE depth. I really would not mind it, but honestly I really wouldn't expect him to overtake ian/Tommy as TE1/2 (I really do think Tommy takes the 1 spot sooner rather than later), and while I like him more than Ian we're stuck with him til after next season, and the only reason I like Howard is because he's a former first round pick who had a solid rookie season at TE. That said he has an absurdly high first down catch rate so fug it can't be worse than Sullivan.
-
I'm not arguing whos the better player is, I've been following Howard since he got drafted because I was so sure he'd be the next great TE. His potential alone is why I wouldn't mind it because I know what he could be and what he's done. But because I've been following Howard, I can say I wouldn't expect much from him. Hell I'd expect more from Ebron off the couch. If he gets beat out by Geoff Swain -- a guy who's career receiving statistics are slightly better than ITs season last year -- and the guy whos backing that guy up, on top of not being able to step up last season when the Bucs had numerous receiving options, the only reason why you'd expect anything of him is because he was a former first round pick with a couple of good seasons.
-
he had less yards than Ian the last two years, and if he gets cut would've lost to such names as Tommy Sweeney and Quintin Morris. i'm not expecting much from Thomas, and wouldn't mind the Howard signing but the only reason to expect he'd do better than IT is because of his draft status.

You're in the NFL section, there's specific sections of the Forum you can access from here, the Carolina Panther's section is the one you're looking for.
