  1. Nashville, Music City, home of the Predators. What a shithole! Halfway between Dollywood and Rib Country, we have the city where everyone dresses like Toby Keith vomited his wardrobe across an entire region. Fake ass hillbillies all think they are the next Taylor Swift. The home of country music that wouldn't know country if it slapped them with a catfish. It is such a boring art town they couldn't even think of a specific scary animal to name their team after, just some random predator. Juicy and the boys might be riding high after beating our taxi squad when we had nothing to play for. But, they are about to experience a storm surge their inland asses will never recover from. Hope yall stocked up on extra lives. And if they think they are gonna bring that Tennessee ass hockey team down to the City of Oaks and leave happy, they might be dumber than I thought. Stuffing a live catfish down your pants dumb. That is the type of asinine poo a Hollywood writer would come up with to cosplay as Appalachian. Try as you might Nashville,
  2. As if we needed more reason to love Ned... Ned Levy, Protector of the Proletariat
  3. I think you are right. Though I hope you are wrong.
  4. I hope Rod doesn't hold on to his vet mentality again this time. I get the whole, "nobody loses their job to injury" thing. But, we've already seen what happens when you don't ride the hot hand in net in the playoffs. Ned should get the start. Has there ever been a legit Vezina candidate who didn't start their team's first playoff game?
  5. Came here to post this. The smile. The laugh. The point. The most iconic play of Cam's career. Probably my favorite moment in NFL history, next to X-Clown
  6. Get well soon! We need ya out there Ole Jesper. I gotta experimental recovery machine if you wanna try it.
  7. We don't care about baseball or the fans, we just want your team!
  8. Of course, the current Bulls would have to be a part of the discussions. This idea is not new. When DBAP was built it was rumored that Durham's MLB affiliate, the Rays were considering the change due to poor attendance down in Tampa. The whispers around Raleigh were that it was gonna be a straight up swap. Rays to the minors, Bulls to the majors. Then they won a championship and everybody forgot about it. Now they might become the Montreal Bay Exrays. Lorde Jeebus, baseball is dumb.
  9. Not to mention, Durham is close enough to count both Greensboro and Raleigh metro areas in their TV footprint, surely eclipsing Charlotte.
  10. I get that, but part of the reason the Ducks thing failed so badly was the team had no real ties to the movie, other than being owned by Disney. The team portrayed in Bull Durham was the actual Durham Bulls, a team with its own rich history, going back over 100 years.
  11. If I'm not mistaken, DBAP was built specifically with expansion in mind, unlike the Knights stadium in CLT. I actually know one of the guys who helped develop the Knights stadium. He/they pushed to design it where the stands could easily be expanded to accommodate MLB attendance. The banks who were financing it, wanted more corporate boxes and didn't want to pollute the views from their executive towers uptown.
  12. I'm not a baseball fan. But, if an MLB team moves to the Carolinas, it needs to be in Durham and named the Bulls. Instantly recognizable with both historical and pop culture reverence. They would instantly be #1 in merch sales.
  13. No worries dude! Good find Hopefully the deal gets done soon!
  14. 3 years/$5.4m ($1.8m per) "If the deal gets finalized at the terms that Friedman reported, it’s definitely a below-market price tag as veteran head coaches have been able to command twice that much or more in recent years. While Brind’Amour – who has led Carolina to a 120-64-20 record – doesn’t have quite the track record that coaches like Mike Babcock, Alain Vigneault Claude Julien, Barry Trotz, Todd McLellan, and Peter Laviolette all had at the time of their hires (where they received at least $4MM), it stands to reason that he could have commanded considerably more had he hit the open market" To me, this tracks with earlier reports about the hold up being Rod wanting the assistants and trainers taken care of first. With his name and track record, RBA could easily pull $5m/yr if his agent is worth their salt. But, he knows the value of the organization behind him. And he is willing to take a pay cut if it means others get a raise.
  15. Despite all our offensive firepower, we are still a D first team. Probably always will be under RBA. With that, we also rely heavily on our special teams. I don't think its a coincidence that or PP fell off at the end of the season as well. I hope that is a focus in practice this next week.
  16. Does holy water prevent aging now?
  17. And ESPN will get 4 months of stories, a reality web series and probably a 30 for 30 to milk out of it. Definitely an ESPY! So glad sports media has fractured and diversified to the point they are almost irrelevant.
  18. All those guys were at their peak athletic potential, not washed up 30 somethings. And do we really need to compare the athleticism required for basketball vs baseball? And Whitehead might've been signed for mentorship, but at least he had played the position before. Not only that, the defense looked like they had bought in to the culture a whole lot more once the crony lost his job.
  19. And him signing this contract, 7 years out of football, learning an entirely new position at 34 years old, only proves the point. Football Jesus. If someone applied for a job with you, and since graduating college, his resume looks like this... - Fired 4x in 4yrs in chosen career. - Career change #1, gifted executive level job with no experience, earned no achievements or awards, contract not renewed. - Career change #2, gifted executive internship with almost no experience, never even left the mail room. ... are you hiring him to try another field he has no experience in over people who have been training in this field for a decade?
  20. FTFY I think only the most cynical actually hate The Golden Calf of Bristol himself. For all the other "haters," it's the narrative, not the man. He comes across a little pretentious about his faith. But, I've never heard a negative sorry about the man. And, you can be sure if he had skeletons in his closet, someone would've dug them up by now. He seems, by all accounts, to be a genuinely good person. That said, when there were years long storylines debating if he was a better QB than Cam, you can't blame people for being annoyed by the fact that it was a question at all.

  22. Yay, our 1st round draft pick is choosing the number a rapist used to wear before he changed it for a clean slate after the whole rape thing!
  23. IMO the Vezina has to come down to Fluery, Vas and Ned. Special mention for Grubhub.
