Darling Nikki, come on down... -
NYT 6. Carolina Hurricanes, 43-24-4 Last week: 5 Mirtle rank: 5 Dayal rank: 7 They rattled off five straight wins after the Mikko Rantanen firestorm of the deadline had the entire league’s attention focused on the Corsicanes, but it’s been a bit bumpier ride since. A lopsided loss to the Kings and a puzzling one against the Predators drop them a spot in our rankings, even though they’re still scoring and dominating possession, as always. Of note: Old man Taylor Hall has been heating up of late, with six goals and nine points in his last seven games. ESPN 5. Carolina Hurricanes Previous ranking: 3 Points percentage: 63.4% Strength of schedule: 48.6%, 21st. The Canes are rolling toward another playoff berth, and it's overwhelmingly likely they'll do so as the Metro Division's No. 2 seed. Next seven days: vs. MTL (March 28), vs. NYI (March 30), vs. WSH (April 2) TheHockeyNews 4. Carolina Hurricanes (43-24-4, +37. Previous: 3) Impressive wins against the Jets and Tampa Bay Lightning by a combined 8-3 score were undone by losses to the Los Angeles Kings and Preds by a combined 10-3 score. There’s just always something about the Hurricanes that holds them back from being considered a serious Cup contender. BleacherReport 7. Carolina Hurricanes Previous Ranking: 3 Overall Record: 43-24-4 There are few places to go from an eight-game win streak other than down, and that's where the Hurricanes have gone recently with two losses in three games since the run of success from March 2-20. A Tuesday loss to visiting Nashville was the first home game for Carolina after a four-game Western trip on which it went 3-1-0. The team entered Wednesday tied for the league lead with 27 home wins.

When this inevitably turns into a Junior Seau (or god forbid a Chris Benoit) situation, I hope that Drury and the Rangers organization are held responsible. -
IIRC, it was nothing political, he just got tired of the bickering earlier in the season and said he might come back for the playoffs.
-
I would have to imagine he'll be up with the big boys, at least part time, next season.
-
Bump for overall perspective and because I was perusing ancient huddle papyri and came across this gem.

Young Bradleton now leads all AHL rookies with 27 goals on the season!
-
Looked back all the way to last season to find a thread about Nadeau to post this in. Maybe a pinned thread to discuss all of the teams prospects throughout the hockey world would spur more discussion...

Darcy Keumper had an 8 goal game earlier this season. Even Hellebyuck has had multiple 12 goal 3 games stretches this year.

He got the imfamous Brett Pesce lower body injury... It got him out of his contract early, though. So, maybe we should thank the guy who shanked his crank! -
Damn near every top goalie in the league has had a stretch (or 2) of games like these this season. As long as it doesn't turn into a slump, I don't think we have anything to worry about. In the past, Kucci has let bad games stick with him too long. But, he's still a young dude. And, his game has matured this year in almost every facet. So, let's hope his mental game has matured as well and he can put this stretch behind him.

Guess I spoke too soon...

Also, hilariously, no difficulties on the east stream feed from fanduel, just annoying NSH announcers...
-
I'm convinced that Bettman is a sleeper agent for the NBA. It is the only logical explanation for the league's incompetence with TV contracts. This fugtard cannot even get his product in front of the fans half the time. Fugging professional disc golf is easier to follow as a fan than a league that has been around for a fuging century!
-
He still hasn't faced many shots. But, Kucci looks to have settled in towards the end of the 2nd. Goalies have notoriously fragile egos. Leaving a guy out there, with a battered lineup in front of him, for goals 5, 6 and 7 is gonna linger for a bit. Hopefully, Pyotr's got it out of his system now.

No Aho tonight... Rod must be trying to send a message after going only 9-1-0 over the last 10. Gotta get a spark somehow...

NHL refs hate fun! No zebra could hold Kucci back... -
Only let's you edit for like 3 minutes.

More goals in one period than in Mikko's entire Stars career...
