As the summer heat mellows and the leaves begin to turn, the eyes of the disc golf world turn towards the Queen City once again...
The best disc golfers in the world are all Charlotte bound as we speak. Haggard old huckers are busy scooping goose poop, planting mozzarella sicks, and meticulously manicuring every inch of fescue on the historic Wofford Gold Course.
October is for Disc Golf in the Carolinas and the whole world knows it. USDGC is celebrating its 25th year here in our hometown. The DGPT Championship is returning for the 5th year in a row, its 2nd year at Nevins Park. The jewels in the queen city's crown sparkle just a little bit brighter this time of year.
If you've slung some plastic, but never watched the pros play, I'd highly recommend checking out either tournament in person. I'll be there all 4 days out at Nevins for the Tour Championship. Probably only be able to get down to Wofford for 1 or 2 rounds.
If you can only make one, Wofford Gold is legendary in the sport. The Augusta National for sun soaked hippies.
Wofford College, October 5th - 8th
Nevins Park, October 12th - 15th
Oh and before any of you stick and ball weirdos start bashing a real sport...
