Exactly the reason that most expected us to take a fairly large step back this year. Losing those 2 in the same offseason was a huge blow to the overall team identity. There were always going to be growing pains from this transition. The fact that we have barely missed a beat, record wise, should be a huge feather in the cap of both, RBA and E.T. The fact that the team is learning how to win without a shutdown defense, should bear us fruit whenever Morrow and Nikishin are ready to make their debuts. I know Nikko's case is a little complex. But, I'd love to see Morrow get a call up before the playoffs to get him seasoned up for a cup run!

Step away from the suicide booth there, Bender. Even if we go .500 the rest of the way, the Sens or Bruins would have to win 16 of their 20 or so remains games to catch us. If those 2 continue their .500 records, we only need to win 6 of 22 to clinch the last WC slot. I would be extremely shocked if we missed the playoffs. Take a warm bubble bath, light some candles, pour a glass of wine and rip a dab or two...
