I'm not a fan of trading away your best players for draft picks... but if the guy is just going to walk for nothing, seems better to get something while you can. Giving him a fat contract with all the other holes on the roster, also seems like a bad idea. His estimated value as a free agent is over $10 mill per year. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets something like a 5 years, $60 million deal. Are we going to pay that? I sure as hell hope not. Trade him for a solid deal, draft another RB in the 4th or 5th to pair with Brooks, spend your money on rebuilding the rest of the roster. This isn't complicated FFS.

Ideally take a big trade down like the Bears got from us. This teams needs 10+ starters lol need a huge infusion of talent to turn things around. Unless you're fully convinced the guy sitting there is the next Tom Brady gonna look to trade and go BPA the whole way and just stack the roster with as much talent as I can.

They can, cap isn't the issue. They haven't gotten any offers that aren't laughable. Nobody really wants him, that's the problem.

Looks like we got a few decent starters. Not sure any of these guys are going to be high end elite players though. So, it's looking like an alright draft but nothing special.

Trading proven players for picks is generally a bad idea. Rather keep the few decent players we have. But we shouldn't be passive and just see what happens either. Bring in every player that's a pending free agent that you want to keep, and try to work out an extension NOW. Don't let them hit free agency. If they're asking some crazy price, or it's very clear that they have zero intention of re-signing with the team THEN you can trade them. Better to get something if they're going to walk anyway.

Don't worry Giants, just give Daniel Jones another 6 years to develop. I'm sure he'll be fine.
