That was one of the worst examples of mismanaging talent I think I've ever seen. After year 1 he looked like he was going to a perennial pro-bowler, at the very least a top end starter. Then they tried to morph him into this ultra-versatile hybrid player that constantly switched between 3 different roles. Then blamed him and threw him under the bus when it didn't work. I'm sure he couldn't clear out his locker fast enough the second his contract was over.

He literally took less money to get away from this franchise and honestly, having a hard time blaming him for it.

Horn was frustrated at the beatdown and tried to fight the entire Bears OLine (lol) I don't even hate it. He's the only player on that defense with any pride and fight in them. Rest of those guys are just out there cashing checks and DGAF.

Offense - starting QB, WR1, RB, Center all free agents. Thielen will be on his last year. XL looks promising but after that there's nobody at WR. Need upgrade at TE also. Defense has Horn and uhh.... ????? This team needs a LOT

Teams keep chasing QBs every draft like that's the case, overdrafting and throwing crazy resources at QBs hoping they'll land the next Brady or Mahomes. I'd rather take a haul of draft picks, stack the team with talent and let some other team take that (almost certainly losing) gamble. Sure, if you really feel the guy there is the next great elite QB, take him. I just seriously doubt that's going to be the case.

The late round picks are whatever. Just have a normal 3 picks in the first 3 rounds. Adding an extra 2nd and future picks wouldn't be anything crazy. Not sure where this "we got 10 picks so can't trade down!" comes from. Panthers have tons of holes, could use all the picks they can get.

This team needs SO much, desperately needs a huge infusion of talent So... no matter how bad these upcoming QB prospects are... hype them to the absolute stratosphere to the media. Hell, hire a PR team to hype them up 24/7. Then sell the pick for some massive trade offer to some dumb team that buys the hype. BPA, BPA and BPA some more. Stack the team with talent.

I would say maybe the Panthers piling up garbage stats for BY so they can't trick some dumb team into giving up a fat trade offer for him, but they're not that damn smart. They're playing him cause they're stupid enough to think they're still going to salvage him and at some point there's some magical switch that's going to flip and he's going instantly start playing like an NFL QB or something
