  1. This. There's a ton of miscommunication that can largely be attributed to, well, trying to make grinders play finesse. Pretty much the whole o-line are out of their element. Reich's attempts at creating a WCO with an o-line that is not built for that is a tall order. For someone who claimed he'd fit the scheme to his personnel, well, he's doing a very poo job at it. From here, there are two options 1.) Reich admits his fault, revamps the playbook next year to tailor towards the strength of the o-line, which is power and downward movement vs lateral. Or 2.) Literally change up every olinemen to tailor to his WCO vision. Number 1 is hard but is very clearly the best option for the team if they want to start showing good stuff on offense. That may involve a coordinator change and Reich's influence being completely ripped away from the offense. Number 2 is nightmare scenario if Reich stays stubborn to his ways.
  2. Last week Bryce Young played well and willed the Panthers to a win. This week he's unable to make miracles consistently for this poorly equipped team. Young's no Cam Newton and certainly is not on par with Stroud, but the cards are against him on this team. I question if Stroud could find success with this poo-show either.
  3. Yeah some questionable decisions during that time. And I hate the lack of trying on 4th and 1, I get that sneaking out points is fine but scared me the Texans would catch up once the defense is gassed, and they nearly did and Bryce had to have a gamewinning drive.
  4. I appreciate that post. Better perspective on your feelings and it's completely valid. I do think moreso the offense is heavily limited by personnel vs playcalling at this point. A transition period with WRs who can't block and yes, it is fair to criticize them meshing a lateral system for a power oline. I do think Brown showed better flashes vs Reich and should improve on it.
  5. And Bryce Young was being pelted on all game against the Texans, and arguably was more pressured than Stroud. Stroud had a bad game, it happens, he's still a promising great rookie QB. It's okay to admit Bryce Young looked fantastic and showed a lot of promise today too, and that's who matters more.
  6. Can vouch. Growl has been one of the more critical posters but super glad he's calling out the super extreme takes on the Young vs Stroud debate. Both will be great QBs, who cares. All that matters is Young is improving as the season goes on. Today, he showed plenty of improvement. Lots to be excited about.
  7. Oh yeah Bryce was getting absolutely mauled all game. Far more than Stroud and prevailed. Bryce deserves plenty of credit for this win. His improvement has been super nice to watch.
  8. Said new playcaller is literally in his first NFL game ever trying to make something out of the turds on OLine and WR. The amount of drops and the amount of sacks Bryce took, and he still won and prepped the Panthers for the game winning FG. Like Bryce, Brown will likely improve as the year goes on. We won for the first time this season. It may be one of the rare times it happens. There's plenty to be happy about with a dub.
  9. He did. Bryce has always been improving week after week. Today he finally had results with a win in spite of pathetic oline and WR play
  10. I thought 2017 would be the worst WR hands group in a while. Who knew that upgrades became downgrades this season lmao.
  11. Got slammed by a guy quite a bit smaller than him. He never finishes.
  12. Haven't watched a full Panthers game since the Seahawks. Plainly didn't even watch the Lions nor the Dolphins game. I'll garner some attention to see if the Panthers make any meaningful improvements after the Bye. Maybe Thomas actually improves this abysmal offense when he's the playcaller? Doubtful though, but I'll watch and see if there's anything to actually be hopeful for.
  13. One thing I have to admit, you've been beating the drum about Gettleman when most laughed at you. Now your very correct caution against this coaching staff and especially Fitterer is bearing fruit to probably the worst Panthers season thus far. Despite his faults, Hurney has done more good than any other GM Carolina has had. You've been on the dot with your analysis, and even more so this year.
  14. Was in the same boat as you. Absolutely optimistic and thinking things would finally be different. Shame on the Panthers for crushing my hopes yet again. Today was the second game I haven't even tried to watch. Only saw a few moments on redzone but pretty indifferent, knowing there was no hope. Taking an observer role and disconnecting from the Panthers this year makes things a lot better. Lot of fun going around the league to waste on watching this franchise fail yet again. Apathy is the correct term to describe my feelings for this team.
  15. Funny how putting Young in tempo and letting him run things looked 100x better than the huddles Reich calls. Then again, it was garbage time, but still. Reich's playcalling has been an abysmal mess.
  16. Drake Maye would be QB1 in any other draft class and it wouldn't be close. What an incredible game from him.
  17. Somewhere in the middle of this podcast. Definitely a great watch honestly.
  18. I'm usually the most optimistic in any scenario. I hate being pessimistic, but right now seeing the Bears and how this team is now the worst in the league record wise and quality wise, it's a sinking ship of sorrow. I've never felt rock bottom as I do now for this team. It'll take a lot for me to trust in this team's future, and at this point I question if Reich truly is the guy to get it done, and moreso frustrated at Tepper's reign so far.
  19. Frustrating. There's no one on offense that brings any level of excitement. Even the excitement of seeing Young's development is marred by the complete ineptitude he has from his "all star" coaching staff. Pathetic gameplans come gameday. Nothing that shows me that they're playing to Young's best traits, and everything to show they're trying to fit square pegs into round holes. The receivers can't separate, and Reich can't scheme around that. The Texans and Colts can, but for some reason Reich can't. Speaking of Colts, funny their offense is now much more exciting when Reich left. Wonder why... Pathetic. I've run out of the hopium they've injected into me this past offseason, and I'm tired.
  20. Even if the Bears lose tonight, they have shown more promise in the past two games than the Panthers have all season. I once was an optimistic fan and hoping this season would be different. I was blinded by coachspeak, hoping that things were trending up. I disregarded the signs from the Panthers 0-3 preseason, believing that the coaching staff's experience would lead them to a whole different product come regular season. I even disregarded the first game against the Falcons as first game jitters. As of now, it appears the only direction the Panthers have gone is deep down in the Mariana trench of ineptitude. Rather than the fabled offensive injection an "offensive minded" HC like Frank Reich should've brought, the product on field shows a bunch of players clueless about what to do. From completely boneheaded self-inflicted penalties and miscommunication, to terrible clock management and situational playcalling, Reich's reign so far has been far from the supposed "creative" and "exciting" offense promised the past offseason. Instead, we have a coach who has no clue how to use his rookie young QB and develop him, and muddying waters with management and how perhaps decisions weren't all made in unity. All this stems back to Tepper's purchase and meddling of the team. Coming in with his brass balls but lacking any himself, he's decided to not let the football minds guide, but put his own foot through the door with the internal decision making. From the inexplicable 3-4 switch under Ron Rivera, shoving Cam Newton out the door, to hiring Scott Fitterer, who proceeded to trade/let go of any offensive talent (DJ Moore, CMC, etc.) while not having any ability to replace them effectively. The past offseason, the team had a great shot at acquiring Hopkins to replace Moore, but failed to do so. Now, they are flailing in the regular season hoping that a WR1 falls from the sky. Shooting themselves in the foot, and becoming the worst team in the NFL in one season after showing promise and even a glimmer of a playoff shot last season. After Cam Newton was rid of, and Luke Kuechly retired, the Panthers have lost all culture and excitement. The most enraging was the attempt to get rid of Keep Pounding, the very mantra of what this franchise used to be. It feels barebones, lacking any identity nor optimistic future. All former players from Kuechly and Olsen seemed to scram away from the disaster the franchise was becoming under Tepper's rule. Cam Newton even recently said so himself, that under Tepper the veteran's input was disregarded, cascading into the hiring of Rhule and the complete clownshow the franchise would soon become after. Getting rid of the culture and history the Panthers have had. Young is looking lost in this system, and while he's gotten better, it's certainly far behind the pace of fellow rookies CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson. That falls on coaching. The o-line is bad and looking more lost on the field, and WRs are never in sync. That falls on coaching. From no experience in Matt Rhule to too much experience and retreads in Frank Reich and co., David Tepper has gone from one extreme to the other and can't seem to find an identity for this team nor a proper future. The Panthers are 0-4. I've lost the optimism I had the beginning of the season, and with the Bears showing progress and hope tonight with DJ Moore playing lights out while Brian Burns plays like a bum in any crucial moment, it's frustrating. The Panthers should be better than this. They keep going backwards, not forwards, and it seems to be falling off a cliff. I no longer am excited about gamedays. It hasn't felt the same in years, now worse than even the Clausen era at this point. I once was not worried, nor concerned. Now I am both worried and concerned with the Panthers currently and in the future. At 0-4, they face the Lions then the Dolphins. With the track they're on, they're likely headed to 0-6 by the bye, with their 2024 first round pick in Chicago's hands. A sonata of ineptitude brought about by Tepper, with no finale in sight. Thanks.
