  1. One of the best reads I've seen on the Panthers defense and just how formidable it already it (shoutout @ellis for posting on twitter). Phil Snow is an absolute mastermind with the players we have on defense and it shows. https://matchquarters.substack.com/p/the-multiplicity-of-the-panthers The article goes in-depth concerning just how many versatile packages Phil Snow ran with this group. Despite their 4-3 base, they never truly stick with it. The article highlights many different looks the Panthers have employed - a testament to the formidibility and talent of the players, as well as the ingenuity of Phil Snow. Personnel packages the article highlights from the first two games include: * 3-4 * 5-1 * 4-3 * 4-2-5 (Big Nickel) * 4 Down Dime I highly recommend reading the article and just how effective the Panthers are in these various formations. It's an incredible sight to behold. Another interesting nugget is seeing the parallels Snow is making with this group and how his approach and success in college is showcasing a similar path in Carolina: Just incredible seeing that Snow's approach is methodical and effective. He has a clear vision that bore fruit in Baylor, and now it appears that same approach is about to take the NFL by storm. Ultimately, the article concludes that the versatility and possibilities of these defense make it one that's a huge headache for any offense to keep up with and likely one that few will have an answer to for a long while: This is a defense to get excited for. Phil Snow built a juggernaut of versatility that will be exciting to see.
  2. NBC Sports already has the Panthers at 16, the lowest 2-0 team by far, and only two above the Saints: https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/49ers/2021-nfl-power-rankings-where-49ers-sit-after-week-2-win >16. Carolina Panthers (2-0): Sam Darnold passed for 300 yards for the first time since Week 12 of the 2019 season. What a difference going from Adam Gase to Joe Brady makes.
  3. Busy with life. But checking back in periodically while I can.
  4. Who cares. Cam's not playing for anyone right now and Sam Darnold is absolutely balling out. Cam was good for us, but now we've moved on and Sam is good for us. Anyone bringing up Cam now is living too much in the past, Sam's the future and it's looking bright. It's 2021 and no one cares about Cam debates anymore. -Resident Cam apologist
  5. Sam Darnold was a top 3 pick for a reason and a top QB prospect as well. So happy to see his potential being reached.
  6. A blast from the past. Wonder where Sanjay's been lately.
  7. If they are teenagers, definitely see about scheduling them as soon as possible. Hoping for a speedy recovery for them and that you can get them vaccinated real soon after!
  8. Once upon a time, it was the American thing to do to get vaccinated against Polio. Schools had clinics, hardly any anti-vaxx sentiment and an overwhelming support. Trusting in that age's scientists and doing their part in ensuring their fellow neighbors, family, and friends are protected. Sad to see that mindset no longer exists. Willful ignorance at this point. Ironic too, given possible symptoms of COVID - even mild - are far, far worse than what any vaccine would give. Hope WFT starts amping up those numbers after Ron Rivera's public comments, but sadly selfishness and lack of any compassion are the primary traits of Anti-Vaxxers. Disgusting honestly.
  9. Route running was one of my main concerns when he was drafted. His route tree seemed small and he was not as nuanced in it. Seeing his improvement since then is eye-opening and pleasant, especially with the carousel this team has underwent at QB. Good post and good stuff. Hoping to see Moore continue his progress for the better!
  10. DJ's flourishing talent is a pleasant surprise. One of the more exciting developments I have witnessed from him is his mastery of the route tree and better movement. He shows much improved ability to get open on his own in comparison to previous years, a positive development I was doubtful about. Certainly love that DJ has proven me wrong and shows promise to be an absolute menace to defenses. I am hoping that consistency in the QB position will unleash him into the monster he now can be. Hopefully Darnold is the answer and we get to see a beautiful connection between them. Or, at the least, just a simple improvement over the atrocity that was Bridgewater.
  11. This is one of my biggest takeaways seeing how this team is progressing. There is a more clear plan and idea to what the Panthers are wishing to do and a seemingly better process for it. So much young potential talent surrounded by coaches and a front office with a vision. This isn't Hurney and Rivera ball anymore. This is a team looking to compete in the near future and strike. I am very optimistic with this group. Improvement is the step I want to see this team take for now. I wouldn't even missing the playoffs as a negative as long as this team proves it is more functional and cohesive as a group bursting with potential. A clear upward trend towards the better and I am satisfied.
  12. He shut down Vic Beasley twice. He held Dee Ford to only one sack while he was on a roll. He held down most pass rushers really well, and faced way harder competition than Remmers did.
  13. Moton will be viable I assume. No way he could be worse than Remmers.
  14. Currently imagining Funch as 2014 KB, and KB as 2015 preseason KB on roids. Somewhere down there something's about to pop.
  15. "We ain't got no wideouts" He's probably one of my favorite coaches from the Panthers. He's been a huge asset, and we're lucky to have him.
  16. I thought last year's training camp was intense. This year's looks is shaping to look like one for the books. Wonder if there'll be a Garrett vs. Sanchez type of thing going on. That I gotta see.
  17. All you Huddlers are stressing out when you don't need to stress out. I'm pretty sure that if the common Huddler was able to come to the conclusion that our OLine depth is virtually non-existant, then I'm sure a mastermind like Dave Gettleman himself has realized that and has multiple plans and ideas on how to resolve this issue. He gets paid to be a good GM, and he has yet to prove otherwise. Last season, our biggest depletion was our secondary. Don't act like it wasn't a problem. If Peyton Manning had some arm strength left in him, our secondary would be torched. I mean we had guys like Finnegan who literally was pulled from his couch during retirement, and McClain starting. Dave pretty much wrapped up depth in the secondary with this draft. I'm sure he has plans for the OLine too. All in all, our weaknesses would probably be strengths for many teams. We have exceptional depth at many positions, and a bunch of teams would kill to be in a situation we're at. FA's will now start to want to play for the Panthers, and we'll become something solid for years to come. Gettleman will keep looking for those rusty gems buried deep in the draft and FA, and we'll continue winning. TL;DR: Quit your whining and let Gman do his job.
  18. Eh think about it. Boykin's always wanted a shot at playing outside corner. I believe he may reach and aim for that goal. Bene is just prime for a breakout season. As far as nickel, maybe Shaq fills that role?
  19. I really want Sterling Shepard in the second. I think he'll become our Smitty 2.0. He runs routes at a pro level, something our team desperately needs, and he plays like Smitty. He's gonna be worth it in the long run if we get him. Make it happen Gman!
  20. Fixed link (sorry, don't know how to edit a post. Someone help guide me through that process?)
  21. This is why I pay little attention to "history" of draft picks at a certain position. : http://www.derp/2012/3/24/2898251/why-drafting-luke-kuechly-would-be-a-mistake I believe Derrick Henry would be a great pick, and I honestly think he'll be a success. Just think of Cam and Henry, just bullying defenses to submission. He'll need to work on agility, but when he runs, he runs.
  22. Panthers already as 3 point underdogs against the Broncos. Makes revenge ever so the more sweeter; http://espn.go.com/chalk/story/_/id/15206861/denver-broncos-open-3-point-favorites-carolina-panthers-nfl-week-1
  23. Should I mention that Hurney was targeting Mark Barron until Tampa Bay took him? Yes, Hurney has had some good draft picks, but when it comes to managing the cap and the team in general, he's a bit lacking in that area. And as far as BPA, as you can see, Kuechly was an obvious need from the get go.
