Ian Thomas Contract Details (also TE market is HOT)
joemac replied to Evil Hurney's topic in Carolina Panthers
OK not as bad as originally thought, but still Thomas has done absolutely nothing in his time here to show that hes worth any more than the NFL veteran minimum. Hell, we drafted a guy to replace him in the 3rd round last year who showed a lot of promise. -
Watson is going to be a Panther by the draft at the latest. We all need to come to grips with that.
-
That doesnt really make much sense since what the Broncos traded away has come out. Its Lock, some DL named Shelby something or other, 2 firsts and 2 seconds. We could do better than that - or at least exactly the same. Probably coulda thrown in some better players
-
IDK apparently they've been working on this trade for like 6 weeks now.
-
Just the signing bonus, right?
-
Don’t these years end up creating dead cap though? Or is that not how it works?
-
If we have to eat 75% of his salary, might as well just keep him.
-
This. They've proven that this particular group of players together cannot win squat and are not particularly exciting to watch, or close to being a dangerous team. I would not be mad if they traded anybody they have that has any value and get a ton of high pick back. Start over, because this current iteration ain't it.

poo, Seifert won 15 games here his first 2 seasons, Rhule wishes he was anywhere close to the head coach that Seifert was.

Thats how you know you are TRULY a shitty ass organization from top to bottom. On here I usually try to give the professionals the benefit of the doubt, but this franchise has ben ran ridiculously bad for far too long. We have no franchise LT, no franchise QB, no DE with a huge contract, which usually take the biggest bites out of a teams cap, yet somehow we STILL have no fuging money to spend. Its maddening.

What makes you think Jimmy G with a good oline's ceiling is .500? When healthy and playing in SF hes always been well above .500. Don't take this as me wanting Jimmy, because I don't, but hes shown he can lead teams to good records. Although I guess we don't really know how much Shannahan carried him to that.

2023 QBs. What I have been screaming for months now
joemac replied to mrcompletely11's topic in Carolina Panthers
No. fuging. Way. I think (hope) the only way we trade our 1 next year is for Watson. That’s it. If we see the writing on the wall, the F.O. Guys and Rhule have to as well. Jimmy G ain’t it. -

Been sayin the exact same thing, Browski. Take the top LT on the board at 6. Take out lumps with Sam, or possibly Cam this season. We’re gonna be ass regardless. Then have hopefully a top 5 pick and get our franchise guy then. It’s a process after all. -
Absolutely under no circumstances should they trade away our number 1 next year. We're gonna be terrible this year, and there are multiple top flight QB's coming out in that draft. Thats gonna be our chance to land our franchise guy, assuming they dont go all in for Watson, with the news now that Miami is out of the running.

Perhaps Philly falls in love with a prospect in the top 6? I could see them possibly trading us 2 of their firsts this year that are in the teens, for our #6.

Anybody know what McAdoo's track record is like with developing young QBs?
-
How fast did the cops clock him on his dirtbike?

Judging from Fitt's Comments, Reddick isn't coming back.

Hmmmmm, what has Thomas ever done to give McAdoo that much confidence in his game? Not like Ben was at practice the last couple years so he must be going off game tape. -

IDK man, it was absolutely idiotic. Thomas has not shown he worth more than the NFL minimum at this point, and they just gave his ass 6 million dollars for pretty much next year. Its madness. -
For the record, Gillys wife responded to all this on Twitter just now and said it has nothing to do with football and that its the off-season.....so yeah.
