David Newton questions McCaffrey's support of Bridgewater

Has there been any credible rumors that Luck is looking to return? -
new CBSSport mock has got us trading for Watson....and with not a particularly bad trade on our end either. Tony Pride Jr?

Chris Weinkie

LOL. Yeah, I forgot...him and Cam and Watson are all BFF's.

Today I have seen 2 new trade proposals for Watson - One from the Redskins for 3 first round picks and CHASE YOUNG! The second from the 49ers, also for 3 first round picks and Nick Bosa. So, judging by the chatter, Houston is almost assuredly going to want Brian Burns in a Carolina deal for Watson. Burns and 3 firsts? Ehhhhhh, IDK about that one. Might be a bridge too far for me.

Latest CBS mock has Panthers picking Mac Jones at 8
joemac replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ugh. He looked outstanding last season, but how much of that is the "Bama Effect" and how much is his actual talent? Im not totally opposed to this, if Rhule got a lot of time with the kid, and they like him that much, then who am I to say different? -

Stafford would throw for 5000 yards and 40 TDs in this system next year. If we do get him. Mark this post for this time next year. -
Meh. It’s a possibility. I see them using number 8 to make some noise though. Trading down for more picks doesn’t seem like the type of message they want to send this off-season. Honestly I’m going to support whatever they do. I like the brain trust we have now and I am willing to give them time to prove themselves and implement their vision.

The Panthers should be al over Goff if he comes available. I don’t understand why LA wants to get rid of him. Every time I’ve seen Goff play I’ve come away impressed. Am I missing something with him? -
Cam won the NFL MVP with an F receiving group in 2015.

I dont even think its the full one side of the story. Has anybody verified what actually went down, past Cams salty comments right after he was released?
-
That doesn't make any sense. Do you know what being catfished means?
-
Yeah? Welcome to the NFL.

Cam Newton is washed as a high level NFL QB. Can anybody blame the Panthers for moving on from him after the performance he put on tape last season? The man started the entire season for New England, then threw 8(!!!) TD passes....and he looked quite pathetic most of the time doing it. Turns out the team was correct in parting ways with him. If Cam is still salty about that, then that is on him. And this is coming from one of the biggest Cam fans around.

LOL. Yeah, if anybody's franchise QB gets hurt, they are likely screwed. So what? Has Watson shown that hes injury prone?
-
You do realize that the first this year is a wash, right? We would be drafting a rookie QB at 8, so its like drafting Watson at 8 this year instead. Dont get hung up on this years first.
-
Paying too much for him? Have you seen Mahomes new contract? 35M + is the new going rate for a top flight, young franchise QB - which Watson DEFINITELY is. His deal will end up being somewhat of a bargain as the years go forward. Hell, we're stuck paying Bridgewater 20M. There are no deals for future Hall of Fame QBs these days. If you have the chance to get one - you do it. Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield and Josh Allen are all going to get at least 30M a year in their next deals.
-
People around here hold too much value on a first round pick. You could end up with Kelvin Benjamin, Vernon Butler or Shaq Thompson (not that hes bad, but does he play at a first round level?)
-
In reality its only 2 firsts because we would most likely be taking a QB at 8 this year. So its like drafting Watson at 8.
