  1. looks like our draft pick is locked up now.
  2. spectacular is a bit of a stretch. wilks did a good job, but made it clear he isn’t going to make us a perennial contender. will Reich? we don’t know yet. all we know is wilks was good, but not good enough, so you move on to the next one. if you do a good job in your vetting process, hopefully you increase the probability that you find the one who will take you there, but it’s still not guaranteed.
  3. there’s at least 200 people in the list of top 5 NFL QBs. duh.
  4. so far what i’m getting from this thread is that if the current rumors don’t match my interests, tepper is the dumbest mother fugged ever born.
  5. i was excited for Rivera because his defenses were incredible. as it turned out, he played Foxball on offense.
  6. it’s not like offense and defense need to be philosophically linked. you could run them as separate entities.
  7. the top 10 offense multiple times does something for me
  8. you win all the pie you can fit in your basket at Foooooood Lion
  9. i’ve been in this exact situation, where you have a candidate that looks like they should be the next goat, but when you talk to them in person they just fall flat. i’ve tried hard to give a great looking candidate an opportunity to show me they have the stuff, but eventually just have to let them go. he might just not be ready.
  10. there’s a difference between a build project where you need consistency and reliability vs a competition, where you need constant growth and ingenuity. we lost our first super bowl because the opposing defense had video of our plays and knew what we were going to run. we lost our second super bowl because the offense ran the same plays all year and the defense knew what we were going to do. a competition need new ideas, change, and flexibility. being able to perform the same task over and over again with high reliability is great when building something, but in a competition will lead to the defense jumping all over you.
  11. i’m glad they are doing it like big boys this time. hiring at a top level of any org is about as big a move as you can make, so you’d better do your homework. i have a feeling Wilks and Reich will be more like Foxball than not, but that’s just my speculation.
  12. two winning seasons, two losing seasons, one right in the middle. sounds pretty damn mediocre to me. Reich has done nothing to show he can create a consistent winner. up and comers may be great, may bomb. we don’t know. all we get from Reich is more picks in the teens.
  13. looked like a TD to me, but you can’t see the ball so how do you change the call?
  14. what we’re used to isn’t what we are trying to hire someone new to replicate. if you’re looking for a new HC who you hope will make you a perennial contender, 9-8 is not what you should consider an example of success. Reich has not shown any consistent success as a HC.
