Cam should have and this would not have gotten any air time. Generally Cam is very good with this type of thing and Cam Newton doesn't have to answer to anyone, especially some kid. His career and pocket book speaks for itself.
-
I'd take Russell Wilson in a heartbeat, but he's isn't going anywhere. I wonder if Lawrence is the cheaper option assuming that Jax would even consider this and also assuming our staff thinks Lawrence is a franchise QB.
-
Who cares and why are people giving this kid attention because attention is exactly what he wanted.

Fans really think the Tepper era Panthers are doing great things?
-
Also, I’d love to keep Bridgewater in Carolina, but as a back up. He strikes me as the kind of guy that probably realizes his future in the NFL is as a back up.
-
Tepper is getting inpatient, which isn’t necessarily a good thing. No one is talking about Gardner Minshew. He would not be expensive and would be a very nice consolation prize if we don’t land Watson.

La Canfora on Tepper's desire for Watson/franchise QB
jtm replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I use to think that you couldn't buy a championship in the NFL with all the players required and salary cap, but the Bucs pretty much just did this so I guess it is doable now. Tepper is ready to make a splash and we've all been waiting on this for years. Take a seat and grab some popcorn because we are about to see the aggressive Panthers that we've all dreamt about and let's see how it plays out in real life. -
I thought this celebration was awesome and hilarious. Good for Brady.

I hate when I'm correct. Cam can't win the big games.
-
Coleman just got owned...that is so bad. Cam is killing us...game should be tied.
-
he looks far worse than Pep. Addison looks like he's shot out of a cannon compared to Allen. Also, Allen has quit on several plays. Not good.
-
Allen looks slow, very slow. Let's hope he's adjusting.
-
We look bad, but only one starter on our dline is playing tonight.

Some guys don't want to move beyond being a position coach and maybe Proehl is one of those guys.
-
Bersin is a move the chain guy with good hands, good routes, and good size. I don't think he'll ever be more than a role player, but I have no issue with him at all. Plus Cam seems to like him.

If players are not overwhelmed and/or lost they are not normal. Luke was out of sorts at first as well and this is to be expected.

Damiere Byrd WR, South Carolina to Panthers
jtm replied to Leeroy Jenkins PhD's topic in Carolina Panthers
I watch every USC game and Byrd is electric. He has elite speed and is very shifty, however, he is tiny. I can't imagine he will be able to take NFL hits, but I would have said the same thing about Sproles. If he can hold up, he will be an interesting gadget/deep ball kind of guy. Nice pick up with nice upside. -
REPORT: SS Swearinger claimed by Bucs on waivers
jtm replied to @bobbyagnese's topic in Carolina Panthers
Do people really think the Texans would trade a 2nd round pick after two years for a 5th or later? No way this will happen. -
NC's process for misdemeanor appeals is unusual in my opinion.
-
I think the judge found Hardy guilty because he is guilty. Further, innocent people don't pay off witnesses. I don't practice in NC and the appeals process for Hardy's conviction is rather unusual. De novo is just a standard of review and doesn't erase a guilty verdict.
-
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I see where you are coming from. Since I work in the legal field I have a different perspective than most and I understand how difficult it is to get a conviction and judges are super smart people.
-
Fair perspective but I trust a guilty conviction from a judge over the Huddle. None of us have seen all the court documents, pics, etc. and the people that have (judge and NFL to an extent) seem to think what Hardy did was bad. Also, don't think for a second that the Panthers didn't see the same information. I'll never understand why anyone defends a player just because he is famous and has God gifted athleticism. As I've said many times, once I heard "alcohol, drugs, and assault riffles out in the open" Hardy lost the benefit of doubt.

The NFL was allowed to see the court exhibits that contained pictures of Holder's injuries that have not been released to the public. Seems these pics must have been bad. http://espn.go.com/espnw/news-commentary/article/12745022/how-nfl-roger-goodell-got-right-greg-hardy-suspension

According to ESPN, the court docs reflect that Hardy called after Nicole and her friend called 911 and the judge thought Hardy's call was an attempted cover up.
