For all that is holy please let this season end GameDay Thread
Carl Spackler replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why are you even here then? -
Bryce looked great. He made every play he could make, and almost willed this team to a comeback win. He deserved the W.

Bryce played great. Refs and defense let him down. Still good to see him put up like 175 yards in the fourth quarter alone. -

Well considering the result, maybe the players have stage fright. -
Tepper being “incredibly accountable” behind the scenes
Carl Spackler replied to Martin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not that shocking. Every year the worst team in the league gets stories written about their awful attendance — I remember a few about the 49ers several years (and retarded Fitterer trades) ago. I still laugh that I think in 2021 if not more often than once, the Charlotte Knights’ Opening Day attendance topped the Tampa Bay Rays’. -
Tepper being “incredibly accountable” behind the scenes

How many did they score?
-
I don't know how much is Fitterer's own incompetence, and how much is Tepper saying "I want this, get me this NOW." But if Tepper can't be canned, this is the next-best thing.

I wouldn't say I'm worried about them. I'm more focused on Preventing them. Maybe just Containing them well.

You and a handful of others on here use the term "coping" entirely too much. More often than not, it's used inaccurately. As far as Brown is concerned, I will go on record as saying I would sign Brown to a big extension and look to trade Burns under two conditions: 1) There's at least one first-round pick as well as a high second-round pick or comparable player coming back, 2) Scott Fitterer will not be the one choosing the players with said picks.

I think it's a pretty tall order to expect any win with what's the worst team in the league operating under the worst owner in North American professional sports. I didn't expect another win after October, and I'm going to enjoy this one. I fully expect another significant step back this weekend, but who knows. Having covered that, let's extrapolate "coping" once again: Being happy about a win and giving credit to players who did well, once again, by definition, is not "coping" -- however, twisting one's words ("multiple improved performances" was referring to improved performances from multiple players) so one can shift the goalposts to a more familiar slant (no touchdowns since Nov. 19 I guess negates anyone I don't like having a good game) is, in fact coping -- because it's your method of coming to grips with a fact (one or more players whom you don't like did well) that contrasts with your preferred stance (people you don't like shouldn't be given credit). "Coping" in my case, would be saying "well, we won in spite of the left tackle again," because I'm not the biggest fan of Ickey. However, he was one of the guys who improved. So he, like Young and Mingo, deserve credit for that.

As does your definition of coping. Ugly wins are better than the mythical "pretty losses."
-
Improved play from the QB, LT, RG, WR2 and WR3.

I would say folks downplaying multiple improved performances are coping. "Coping" is defined as "dealing effectively with something difficult." Being happy about a win is not, by definition, "coping," nor is saying a defense ranked top-10 isn't bad is "coping."

Buddy I just want to say that calling that Prevent was sarcasm -- apparently you didn't see the game thread

Does he talk about the Prevent defense Atlanta ran on that last drive

2018: 2-4 2019: 1-5 2020: 1-5 2021: 2-4 2022: 4-2 2023: 1-3 That's an 11-23 record in divisional games since Big Brass Balls Daddy Tepper The Music Man brought songs to Charlotte

Not true. Most of the time, division games are a free win for non-Panthers NFC South teams. It's OK to give them a little credit.

Maybe that's because the team they played made them look weaker

Bad choice. Expect him to be on the short list. -
