Official Panthers at Falcons Predictions Thread
Carl Spackler replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
What's the largest Week 1 blowout loss in franchise history (thus far)? -
So Sunday's WR lineup appears to be Mingo, Shenault, TMJ and Smith-Marsette. Thank God it's still preseason

Do you have an actual response? Thoughts on offensive line struggles, lack of DL depth, lack of pass rush and a run-defense weakness against a team that's going to run the ball a lot?

Justifying trading your best players on the confidence that you'll hit on all the picks you receive and replace their production is not the way most championship teams are constructed.

what if he was acquired for a first-round pick

Gonna probably need to dump the GM to increase your odds of hitting a Brian Burns. Even with the world's best evaluators, it's an inexact science. I'm not a proponent of giving away something guaranteed for the chance at something as good as what was being given away.

Or, you get two Everette Browns.

I don't recall a time where I felt less confident in the roster entering Week 1, than I do now. I feel better because Rhule and his bums aren't here, but looking at the lineup without Burns and with such a razor-thin pass rush and defensive line plus a wholly unimpressive offensive line, I don't have much confidence in winning this game or even looking remotely competitive until garbage time. If Burns plays, that'll help -- but if not, it kinda feels like 40-10. Important Note: What someone thinks might happen does NOT equate to what they want to happen. Blind optimism is understandable in Week 1, but those who do not have it are not lesser fans.

Patience. We’re still two years from that.

Last October wasn't a fire sale, it was just Phase 1 of a fire sale. The 2023 Carolina Panthers are Bryce Young in the Will Smith where-is-everybody gif

Need to can Fitterer before trading Burns. Dan Morgan is waiting in the wings and will be a better GM. Crazy to think the last few years how bad-to-potentially-mediocre this team has been, and yet Fitterer has downgraded at every position but one, and now may have traded all 3 of the franchise cornerstones for Bryce Young, several bags of warm garbage and some picks to cover for the other awful trades he's made. I don't condone paying Burns above 26MM per year, but this is ridiculous. Fitterer's the Matt Rhule of GMs.
-
is that supposed to be some kind of gotcha reply? Thanks, I guess?
-
I wouldn't worry about that too much, because we're not far from a bunch of Fitt fans jumping off his bandwagon.
-
Picks are the perfect thing until they become players, then they need to be traded so they can become picks again
-
he's him

It's not a tall tale. I hated re-signing Robby Anderson from the jump and it was not a popular opinion: This, on the other hand, did not age as well: Chosen/Robby/Robbie wasn't even good enough to be a Corey Brown.

A few Robby Andersons and a Matt Kalil -
I recall getting flamed for saying Moore was better than Robby Anderson.
-
The longer this drags on, the more stupid it was to trade DJ instead of Burns.
-
I'm sure we're gonna get called kids, children, etc., by those who are emotionally attached to Fitterer and excessive use of emojis, but it has to be said. He's the next casualty on this ship.

There's a solid chance Scott Fitterer gets fired after this season.
