I'm a bit skeptical that it'll last that long, especially given the questionable sources. People are rightfully more likely to react negatively, even compared to Vick as recent as 2007, but I think it'll take a bit more to completely discredit a man's career. For a more apples-to-apples example, see NASCAR driver Kurt Busch and the baseless assault allegations against him in 2015. He was taken out of the car for a couple weeks, even removed from his team's website, then it was solved within a month.

Long time til draft day.

I have a hard time believing that if Watson said he wanted to retire a Texan, this would've still happened.

Fun allegation story: When I was a freshman in college, a girl, to her friends, accused me of assaulting her. She did not go further with the allegations, and I later found out why. I had met this person twice and we'd gone out once with a large group, but I'd decided I liked one of her friends more than her and started to pursue her -- then these allegations started. The girl I liked later told me the original girl admitted she was lying, so she "could have me to herself". She transferred a semester later, married a guy and forced him to take her last name. My name was cleared (and hasn't changed)

If it were most any other owner (which is funny, bc 32 of 32 are slimeballs to varying degrees) people would buy it instantly. It being McNair and his sordid history, though, there's reason to be unsure.
-
I take any allegation seriously, but the timing of these makes anyone with a functioning brain question how much McNair is paying Buzbee

I like it. Worth a shot.

We don't use fullbacks anymore, so we probably won't replace him at all tbh. At this point I'm wondering if we'll even have 53 NFL players on our roster in September, or if the Rachel Phelps-ing will continue.
-
We'll replace him by signing a 37-year-old on his fourth reconstructive knee surgery to a 5-year, $64 million deal with all $64 million guaranteed

Panthers lose TE Chris Manhertz

Who's Baylor's tight end? -
At least we can be confident we’ll sign someone who’s half as good as Obada and we’ll pay him three times as much. Then we’ll cut him next spring and eat the cap hit.
-
And even if they don’t like what they got out of him, he went to the right school. Sorry, I just have to vent. This team is so bad at being smart. And it’s not just today, it’s a multitude of things which add up every year.

Who could’ve guessed that Steven Weatherly, Teddy Bridgewater and Tahir Whitehead were going to suck? Probably 31 other GMs -

We have this fetish for getting rid of good players, signing bad players and then wondering why we suck every year -
Breaking: Panthers make another move

Still waiting for us to make a smart decision today

I want Lance at 8, and I do not think someone will trade up to 5 to get him. Or 6 or 7. Several mock drafts don’t have him going in the first round at all. It’s a need pick and it’s one we should make. I’ll go on record as saying I want one or two guys in the first round: Lance or Sewell.

Disagreeing is fine, but passive-aggressive nonsense like "seeing this through Panthers shades" is unnecessary. People who think CMC was not underwhelming are not the same as "all is well" homers. They are, in fact, telling a truth which is backed up both statistically (CMC was one of the league leaders in touchdowns scored through Week 5, despite being injured in Week 2) and functionally, considering he was available to play at any point in December but was held out to increase our chances of losing and decrease his chances of re-injury. Additionally, if you can pin the blame on an injured running back for a team's lack of success, you most certainly should pin the blame on a healthy quarterback for a team's lack of success. Otherwise, you're not being consistent at all.
-
You can't equate an individual signing with a team's record. That's something a kid would do. The Houston Texans went 4-12. Does that mean Deshaun Watson was underwhelming and not deserving of his contract?
-
What part of having a great start to a season, getting injured but being a healthy scratch for weeks 14-17 constitutes “underwhelming”
-
It doesn't, once a player has a bad game, people on here demand their release no matter the repercussions.

He's played 192 games for us, second-most in franchise history (John Kasay, 221).
