  1. Gastonia fans would love Richardson if he wore No. 15
  2. Hopefully he goes top-5 to someone else and Richardson slides.
  3. I think it's more likely than not that his ceiling is how Darnold performed last year.
  4. I can't imagine how many "What picks could we get for Steve Smith?" threads this present iteration of Huddle would have if it were 2005-'07
  5. On occasion, you'll also get a guy who struggles as rookie/second-year player, but he puts together a really solid second/third season and completely skips the "good player but needs to be traded" tier and becomes "untouchable," even when his performance is, at best, on par with the players who must be shipped out for lottery tickets.
  6. That's absolutely it. If a player is one of the best at his position, he's regarded as an overrated rotational piece unless he becomes the best player at his position. Then, you GOTTA trade him, because there's a chance you could give him up and get someone just as good in return. Bonus points are awarded if you can compare said player to a former Panther whose physical makeup, statistics, career tenure and playing time are in no way comparable. We're one drop from DJ Moore being Dwayne Jarrett or Ryne Robinson.
  7. There's a decent sect of Panther fans who hate good players
  8. Andre Johnson ahead of him is a flat-out joke
  9. Waaaayyy down the list. Sam Darnold is 23rd. No other Panther QB (unless you count Baker’s 7 weeks or whatever) is in the top 25.
  10. If ninth among all WRs in yardage over the last 5 years is average, either 15 teams have disbanded or you're selling him short
  11. I don't agree, by any means, with everything Wilks has done (in fact, I probably take more issue with off-the-field comments than some of the strategies), but saying "he blew it" isn't taking into account this very reasonable possibility: With Jaycee Horn and Donte Jackson out there Sunday instead of two pieces of burnt toast, that game's a win -- regardless of fourth-down decisions. Whether that's enough to justify keeping him isn't up to me.
  12. That's all this is. It's using this team as leverage.
  13. CJ Stroud would be a fantastic player here, a real franchise QB who the Huddle could salivate over netting countless draft picks for in a trade
  14. People get tired of losing. Sam Darnold was not going to lead this team to a playoff win, no different than he did not lead this team to a win over Detroit that made the playoffs a reasonable possibility. DeOnta Foreman, Chuba Hubbard and a nasty OL, however, led the team to that win, to that level of contention, and Darnold was doing his part at QB. The secret to any success this team, as constructed, could've had, was in the ground game.
  15. As soon as they're stars, though, gotta ship 'em out for draft picks. Fell behind 7-0 after the first quarter of the season, so the rest of the year is meaningless anyway. Besides, no team has ever made the Super Bowl after getting only one first down in the first half of their opener.
  16. You should work for Bank of America Stadium, because you're really good at moving goalposts.
