  1. Yep. I definitely wouldn’t compare Young to Darnold, though. Darnold forced it whenever he wanted. Young was the opposite.
  2. I hope he does better and I’d like to think he has the ability to do so, but hell if he’s dogshit, I mean I’ve lived through plenty of dogshit QBs with this team. What’s one more?
  3. I don't think either interception was nerves. He was as cool as a cucumber. The fumble was just a mishandle that he cleaned up. I think it's much more "being a rookie QB on a pitiful team." Expecting something like 34 TDs and 6 INTs as a rookie, which seems to be the general consensus, is ridiculous. He's gonna throw interceptions. Cam had Steve Smith, Greg Olsen and Jeremy Shockey, plus Stewart and DeAngelo out of the backfield, and even with as much as he ran, he threw 17 picks as a rookie. Young has a couple decent running backs, a respectable TE who'd have been TE3 in 2011, the WR version of Jaycee Horn, and various bags of dogshit to throw to. Add to the fact he doesn't run nearly as much, and he's gonna throw some interceptions and make some bad decisions. What you look for is, how did he react afterward?
  4. I'd sure like to see some better play calls given the down and distance. 2nd and 16 from your own 7 and you run that, but 3rd and 1 from the opponent's 10 and you run Shenault up the middle. My biggest fear as of now is not that Bryce sucks, because I love his ability to scan the field and look for someone to get open (IMPOSSIBLE), but that the coaches' decisions on what plays to practice and run, coupled with the league's worst offensive weapons, will put him well behind the 8-ball.
  5. It was just a fantastic play by Jessie Bates -- he essentially had two players covered by himself and he waited for Young to throw before he made a move, because he figured he'd be in place either way
  6. It's probably gonna be a pretty long wait, but hopefully there are bits of promise sprinkled in
  7. I expect a worse performance this week to be honest, and I’m probably gonna try and take a week off this website afterward. It’s not gonna be pretty for the QB against that defense and with this set of receivers and the routes they’re asked to run. However, in a few weeks’ time, the “bench Bryce,” “Jimmy Clausen 2.0,” “Teddy Bridgewater 2.0” posts are gonna get a lot of notifications — and they’re not gonna be in agreement
  8. Does the All-22 reveal Bryce to be the modern-day version of Jimmy Clausen, Jeff Lewis and Randy Fasani on their worst days, like the Huddle implies?
  9. Thanks man! I'd be remiss if I didn't point out the ridiculousness of your Jimmy Clausen comparison. Granted, Clausen needed three games to throw his first touchdown pass, by which point he'd amassed four turnovers, while Bryce waited a much longer four possessions to throw his. Plus, there's an endless array of differences beyond that. But to your credit, you stated reality in the face and said "Nope, not today."
  10. Rhule never disrespects opponents only his own players snd staff
  11. How could Fitterer have drafted Brown if he was hired 9 months after Brown was drafted?
  12. The OL looked great yesterday for three reasons: 1) they rarely rushed more than four and dropped a ton into coverage 2) Atlanta didn't run many stunts (stupid on their part). Once they did, Christensen was confused, standing by himself, and Bryce was on his back 3) They actually performed better than any time in preseason It's reasonable to expect a poorer performance from them this week, because the pass rush will be coming and they're gonna want to see if Young can find a WR on a blitz.
  13. Given the ball spot and down and distance, that's a fair but respectable thing to do.
