  1. Darnold had a 33% completion percentage well into Sunday's game. I guess our hardcore fanbase, the real fans, just get their rocks off on watching QBs misfire on passes.
  2. Which of Sam's turnovers got you the most turned on?
  3. Said it more than a year ago. City Council will only be happy if the city is a series of hundreds of small parks.
  4. No, I wouldn't, because first of all, most competent NFL franchises don't hire a head coach whose biggest accomplishment is at Baylor. It would be a bit more understandable if he's taking Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State or LSU players, but he's essentially just scooping UNCC and ECU trash and placing it on the roster as a job bank. Look no further than the assistant coaches to prove this. Also, if depth chart is the end-all, be-all of NFL talent, where does a guy who wasn't even good enough to be a third-stringer suddenly become a backup, if not due to his alma mater? Was it the three interceptions in a single quarter last year that convinced you he's qualified? Or was it the sub-50% completion percentage in preseason that made you think, "Damn, that guy sails his passes like a superstar"?
  5. Now. let's have someone who's actually in touch with reality try it. You're calling people future stars based on preseason stats and "very capable backups" when they make one tackle in garbage time. 2021 Draft 1 - Jaycee Horn (CB), USCe - good start to rookie year, will miss 82% of the season 2 - Terrace Marshall Jr. (WR), LSU - shown flashes of being a very good player *in preseason*, 116 receiving yards in 6 games 3 - Brady Christensen (OL), BYU - coaching staff sold us on him in May, doesn't seem to trust him now 3 - Tommy Tremble (TE), ND - respectable rookie season so far, has multiple tools 4 - Chuba Hubbard (RB), Ok St. - best pick we made; coincidentally the one I liked best in April 5 - Daviyon Nixon (DT), Iowa - not bad but a JAG so far, averages 1 tackle per game 5 - Keith Taylor (CB), Wash - looked good against MIN but jury's still out 6 - Deonte Brown (OL), Alabama - Has played 5 ST snaps, can't see the field at all. Bust 6 - Shi Smith (WR), USCe - 2 catches, 20 yards so far; "flashed" is essentially public relations talk 6 - Thomas Fletcher (LS), Alabama - wasted pick; already have a great LS 7 - Phil Hoskins (DT), Kentucky - has played as many games as you this season 2020 Draft 1 - Derrick Brown (DT), Auburn - stud DT, solid pick 2 - Yetur Gross-Matos (DE), Penn St. - "v capable starter" LOL he's averaging 25% of defensive snaps and hasn't made a tackle since Week 2 2 - Jeremy Chinn (S), South. Ill. - stud DB/LB, hit on this one 4 - Troy Pride Jr. (CB), ND - gave him a shot, failed 5 - Kenny Robinson Jr. (S), WVU - made his first real NFL play on Sunday 6 - Bravvion Roy (DT), Baylor - look left for the reason he's still on the roster 7 - Stantley Thomas-Oliver (CB), Fl. Int - gave him a shot, failed So Brown and Chinn hit last year. Hubbard looks like he hit this year and if Horn doesn't become injury-prone he's good as well, but giving the guy 10 quarters and calling him a star is absolute bullshit. I like Tremble as well and Marshall looked great in the preseason and before getting hurt, was an afterthought. Overall, we bought a lot of lottery tickets and most of them were not winners.
  6. If you're not taste-testing Rhule and Tepper's boots, you're not a real fan according to the Huddle. At least, that's until they feel the same way by Week 16.
  7. Here's one to start: Cam Newton, who's still better than either quarterback on our roster now. You're really gonna hate this and you'll hate it even more as you accept reality: We cut the best quarterback on the roster in the preseason. And he's only a middling backup. So let me pose some questions your way: what qualifications does P.J. Walker have to be an NFL backup? What makes Sam Tecklenburg qualified to be an NFL backup? What makes Sam Franklin qualified to be an NFL backup? Seen anything from Bravvion Roy?
  8. It's funny how the "fire Rivera" crowd in 2012 preaches patience now for a coach who's about 1/500th as qualified as Rivera, and his resume not only shows it now -- it will show it for the balance of his career. And that's not saying Rivera's anywhere near HOF level. It just shows we got sold a lemon and people are wanting to keep saying the lemon's not a lemon. You do you.
  9. Interested to see your spin-doctoring once Robby Anderson (Temple) is our WR1 after we trade DJ Moore (non-Temple, best WR we've had since 89) because he didn't go to Temple.
  10. Won't take much effort, sort of like defending our passing game
  11. The coach turns over the roster every year with new young players and jettisons all non-Temple veterans. That in itself buys him time as a "look how young our team is" excuse works on fans, but when the actual, tangible results are just more abject failure, it's time to consider cutting bait and realizing that he was a bigger mistake than Bridgewater or Darnold.
  12. Let's see our record at the end of the year before we just let Rhule have the keys for another decade. Right now he's 8-14. That's pitiful.
  13. Boy I am gearing up to start that "Is The Rhule Experiment Over?" thread on Sunday at approximately 4:17 p.m.
  14. We've still got to win more games to match the record. And our schedule gets a lot tougher, so these easy games we're losing will only make us look worse when we start losing 34-17 again in November and December.
  15. He's a college coach who's in over his head. That's just how it is, and it'll continue to be apparent every Sunday.
  16. I was looking up Rhule’s QBs at Baylor in 2019, seeing if any were available because that’s who we’d draft next year. So I found the backup QB and googled him. We won’t be drafting him. He’s already an assistant coach.
  17. PJ threw three picks in a single quarter. But yes please start him. I’ll watch that. Put it on Comedy Central.
  18. The problem is the team is not designed at all. It’s a Baylor and Temple job bank.
  19. oh I saw several people saying Rhule was already our best coach ever. That’s part of the reason i started the thread. I’m also like his OG hater
  20. I’d never advocate tanking. But we don’t have to tank per sé, we can lose 14 straight just fine without having to try to suck. It comes naturally.
  21. I agree with most of this. I think Rhule is on par with a Hue Jackson type.
  22. I’m inclined to side with the breakout player over the team with 3 playoff wins since Yao Ming was a rookie.
  23. The only time Rhule is taking anyone to a super bowl is if he buys a group ticket package.
