Brother, Coker is ahead of XL and likely Renfrow due to injuries. One could certainly make a strong argument he has been far better than TMac so far. I think you are undervaluing him. Watch this season. And watch that Jags crush of your continue to prove to be a very flawed off ball LB.
-
The trade up into the 1st still infuriates me. Height of fuging hubris.
-
Well, Franklin is a JAG at best. I think we ultimately need to aim higher than that for a long term solution. But, roster holes were to be expected. Let's hope one of the younger guys steps up and wins that job.
-
Even without this TC/offseason, Coker proved that last year too. He is simply the far better prepared NFL player. I get the ceiling difference, I think we all do. But if you can't reach that ceiling, what was it worth?
-
Plus the huge influx of RB's in this past draft. It clearly bumped a lot of older vets to being unsigned.
-
Well then go dig through it and post the rankings for starters, bub. You can't post the data, then start crying when people use it the way it is posted.
-
I think XL gets the nod to "save face." Not sure that the season is going to be able to hide the fact that Coker appears far more prepared for the NFL currently than XL.

No, I meant surfing rosters/depth charts for 2025 currently. I didn't take the full data but it seemed pretty heavily weighted towards 25 and under.
-
Then post the starters and prove that to be incorrect. It's your dataset.
-
I didn't post those screenshots. You did.
-
One thing that stood out was how young a lot of the RB ranks were.
-
Plus, Corbett....won the job. What sense would it make to start Mays in that scenario? He isn't a first round draft pick from 2024/2025. He's on a 1 year deal and is a career backup.
-
So their metrics only matter when they suit your argument? Oookay.
-
Yeah, I think we are ultimately mincing words and debating semantics. I am not implying they are guys I don't want, I just don't consider them proven commodities. They are definitely on a path that could lead to that. I am just saying this is overall a pretty bad roster on paper, with or without the QB's. I didn't think 32 was a stretch. Very happy if we are rehashing this in early 2026 ans talking about how wrong I was. That would be fantastic.
-
There are 32 starting centers, bub. 32.
-
New England(Stevenson, Gibson) Houston(Mixon, Chubb) Detroit(Gibbs, Montgomery) Atlanta(Robinson, Allgeier) Carolina(Hubbard, Dowdle) That is it for the current rosters.
-
Availability is an ability. Horn and Renfrow fail pretty miserably at that. Additionally, I am not those amongst the ranks that consider Horn a "proven" elite CB. I think he has had stretches of elite play but rarely been consistent in that. In fairness, there are ample aggravating factors that impact that. Ekownu has proven that he is an NFL LT. I would say he has yet to prove he is a good NFL LT. With a contract extension pending, it's now or never. Least talented will be revealed after the whole season, so we will see. On paper, I would rank it the least talented, same as that ESPN panel.
-
The thing they have in common is both have below average rankings overall. The answer isn't on the roster yet, IMO.
-
And maybe QB, TE, WR, LT, DT, DE, EDGE, S, CB........ There are many questions that need answering in terms of roster future. Far more questions than we have answered. To say nothing of depth.
-
Drafting one is the answer. Corbett is serviceable but far from good. The fact he keeps beating out Mays shows me Mays is basically BC. A valuable backup at best. Time to actually draft the future at that position and save money for 3-4 years in the process.
-
If we get an elite WR, I can accept either but whiffing on two straight 1st round WR's would be a big nail in the FO's coffin, IMO. At the bare minimum, TMac needs to be a good starter for 8-10 years as his floor.
-
Unsurprisingly, your reading comprehension is lacking.
-
Tracy Smith, same as 2024.
-
That too. I am very happy to have signed Dowdle(needed a little time to warm up to it, as I was hoping for a draft RB) but the visions of Double Trouble 2.0 needed to be tempered quite a bit. I definitely don't think we will see anything like that. For all the reasons listed.

We haven't had two 1k backs since 2009. I would highly doubt that happens anytime soon. It would require a significant increase in rushing attempts and efficiency. Not to mention a big improvement defensively. That 2009 season we totaled 525 rushing attempts and also were ranked in the Top 10 in Points and Yardage defense. We had 410 rushing attempts in 2024 in 17 games. Taking credit for Dowdle as a "1k back" would expand that criteria to literally any team with a current roster RB that has run for 1k yards in the NFL. That likely would be a wider pool with that criteria.
