  1. I think that ship has probably sailed but if we look good on offense the next two games, it will be a net positiveoving towards next year. A win or two will be the cherries on top. We will still probably be looking at a rough offseason, I will wager. As excited as I was for last offseason, I am fuging DREADING this one.
  2. You know, I threw that at him with Rhule too but I think the more we look at everything, the majority of this crap has Fitt's fingerprints. If nothing else, he has no blame but is a completely useless "yes" man to both Rhule and Tepper. Fire him yesterday.
  3. It's Tyreek Hill at the moment, IMO. The 49ers had McCaffery but missed Williams and Deebo and lost games. It's goofy to include RB's in the MVP discussion anymore and especially on the 49ers. Lamar would be far better here than Bryce, that's not a question at all. Even under the pressure Bryce gets, Lamar would be scrambling ans making plays with his feet that Bryce isn't capable of. That's why he is so hard to defend(same as Cam, Vick, etc), you HAVE to account for his rushing ability AND his throwing ability. If you cheat one or the other, they are going to hurt you.
  4. He did the same with Hurney 2.0. He moved on from him a season after he should have. He just keeps doing things backwards. We'll hire a new HC this offseason and then try to find a GM to pair with him next offseason. It makes sense because it doesn't. That's the Tepper Panthers. Almost every single franchise in the NFL would have already fired Fitterer by now. He probably wouldn't have lasted until this season, for that matter.
  5. If he is able to put up 250+ over these next two games and look pretty decent, I think we have some hope(for him) moving towards 2024. If not, same as always, back to Tepper's gutter.
  6. I think Fitt is safe. Tepper continues to show he is always late with the very obvious. I suspect Fitt gets fired towards the end of 2024 after another extremely and obviously terrible offseason.
  7. That's just the sunshiners anymore. They shrivel at any criticism that dares to attempt to puncture their sphere of delusional perfection. Early on the majority of non-pointless haters(aka the "I AM RIGHT" crowd) were just mostly normal fans not wanting to throw the towel in. I was a big Bryce supporter buy I think it has become obvious that he needs an above average supporting cast to make any waves. He's basically at his best likely to be a game manager. He isn't an elite NFL QB.
  8. If you don't see those guys here, you haven't been paying attention. There is absolutely plenty of "fans" that care far less about their team and it's success than being able to brag anonymously online about being "right" about a player/move/etc.
  9. No doubt and while I talk about the current iteration of the 49ers demise, they have been very good at rebuild through free agency and the draft. Same as the Ravens. The biggest key to their long run of success has been the steady and smart decisions from their front office. Consequently, you can look no further than that at our demise as a franchise. We descended from below average front office moves to absolute zero. So we are getting the expected results.
  10. Oh you must have missed the anti-Bryce crowd from day one that wanted him to fail. Go browse the preseason and early regular season game threads. They are pretty obvious. Same as every offseason, we have that group of idiots that care more about being "right" on their hot takes than they do about anything Panthers success related. Such a sad existence as a human being. "I WAS RIGHT! I TOLD YOU ALL AND I WAS RIGHT!!!!" Meanwhile....team loses.
  11. Who on earth would say our receiving core isn't bottom five in the league??? It's pretty close to the worst in franchise history.
  12. Yeah, we really dodged that bullet. He has been a shell of himself without regular HJ's available.
  13. You mean sitting on the bench and watching Bledsoe play?
  14. And that isn't including the cost of Kittle, Trent Williams, Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, Arik Armstead, Javon Hargrave, etc. If you look at their cap situation in 2024, they have about $1.3 mil left. I realize they will do some Saints stuff but even the Saints eventually had to start letting core players go. This 49ers window is closing with the current group of players. Doesn't mean they can't reload but it won't be these same guys.
  15. He isn't Tom. If you watch NFL games, it is very obvious he is not Tom Brady. Like, PAINFULLY obvious.
  16. Don't forget Aiyuk is also on a rookie deal. As I said in another thread, the Purdy/CMC/Deebo/Aiyuk group has about 1-2 more seasons before it gets broken up and the price tag of the overall groups goes up to over $100 mil instead of the current price(2023) of, and I am not making this number up, combined $17.1 million of salary.
  17. If you watch 49ers games, pregame shows, NFL coverage, etc....it's fuging insufferable. The announcers slurp him, they spam graphics comparing him to Tom Brady and they just generally treat him as if he is a top 3-4 QB when he is VERY clearly not that. He's a middle of the road NFL starting QB on a team with the best offensive weapons in the NFL. That doesn't mean he is bad but he way closer to Derek Carr than he is Tom Brady.
  18. Now that I think about this more, the 49ers are going to be VERY interesting to watch in the next couple of offseasons. Do they keep their high end weapons and let Purdy walk or do they let a couple of CMC/Aiyuk/Deebo walk to afford to pay Purdy?
  19. In fairness, that would be short lived as we couldn't afford CMC's grotesquely large salary, Moore's top 10 WR salary and Lamar's top 5 QB salary WHILE also attempting to keep the likes of Luvu, Burns, Brown, Horn, etc. The only reason a team like the 49ers can have that embarrassment of riches is that Purdy is literally the NFL equivalent of being free and their best WR(Aiyuk) is still on a rookie deal. They have literally one more year of this(2024) and that core of Purdy, Aiyuk, Samuel and CMC will have to be split up due to insane cost.
  20. 100%. My skepticism has been high the entire time. And for all the seething Purdy fanboys, this is not a slight towards him as a QB. He's an NFL average QB in most aspects but his intangibles are obviously quite high. However....if you want to see a mess and the wheels come off, put him on the 2023 Carolina Panthers. He wouldn't be much more capable than Young or Dalton of elevating this team. Some other elite QB's would likely be able to elevate us(not all, to be clear). Furthermore, if you plop Purdy into some of the other elite QB's shoes/current situations, he isn't likely to exceed their results in almost any of those cases. In most he would be struggling because he doesn't have the embarrassment of riches.
  21. Skepticism of Lamar was fairly high because of the spate of injuries in the two previous seasons. That's a very hefty price tag for a guy that then had questionable durability. Ironically, it's been other big time signings that can't stay healthy(Watson, Burrow, Murray, Herbert, etc).
  22. It's not really Purdy hate, it's media hate. The same way they made me dislike the Chiefs because of the never ending Taylor Swift spamming they cannot stop doing.
  23. The media hype train on Purdy is bananas. It's reminiscent of Tim Teblow. He is a fine QB. He also isn't the second coming of Tom Brady that they are desperately trying to make him. He's surrounded by more and better offensive weapons than Brady had in his collective entire career.
