  1. Fun fact I was looking at, since the start of the COVID19 outbreak(Dec 2019) roughly 12,000 deaths worldwide have been recorded. By even the most conservative estimates, over 1.5 million people have died of starvation worldwide since Dec. 2019.

  3. 100% agree. Pretty good odds you would just end up with mild symptoms at that age anyway.
  4. If I didn't have to travel for the next 4-6 weeks for work, I would totally do one of those studies to get it. fug it. I think it's valuable to get tested just for peace of mind if nothing else. I know so many people with mild symptoms or nagging sickness that are worried to death about it, which all that stress makes their immune system weaker anyway. If we had ample amounts of tests, I don't blame anyone for wanting to get tested if they are ill and need the peace of mind.
  5. Could be sickness and then allergies piling on. Being sick that long is abnormal. May as well go attempt to get tested just to know. It will at least allow you to be on higher alert if things turn on you.
  6. Me too, brother. The poo sucks.
  7. Not surprised. Italy is going to continue to get smoked. The population is so incredibly old.
  8. Yeah, I have heard similar. No BS, I do agree about the inciting a panic stuff. I never thought I would be on that side of the opinion but the way people are freaking out, the less they know about the spread, the better.
  9. I believe in times like these, Moose Hoover may be our best hope.
  10. I'd be curious to know if they are doing many tests for the virus. I keep hearing people saying they aren't. I'd like to know if that is true. Or, what basis are they doing the testing on?
  11. I am weirdly in agreement with some of the government's position on the numbers. I do think we should be testing more people because that data is valuable but I do not think that the general public should get that information at all. They have already panicked at an extreme level and it is just going to make that issue worse.
  12. As usual, offering no actual input or useful information. I am pretty sure most have figured out what you are at this point. I see lots of posters with articles, even personal anecdotes and yet you just offer snide commentary and shrill, panicky speculation packaged as factual information. Like I said....good luck with that.
  13. Yeah, I am also going to just ignore that article and click on the source material. In a crisis, the media is not going to be able to transmit accurate information. They just haven't developed that way. And I mean that outside the typical propaganda spewers(Fox News, MSNBC, Russia Today, etc). I am not against utilizing traditional media except in a crisis. They typically drop the ball on accurate, complete and non-reactionary reporting when they get spun up.
  14. Wouldn't be the first time the FDA has kept safe and effective drugs/medical products that other first world countries have proven to be effective away from the US.
  15. I did dismiss it and just clicked on the source info.
  16. I think the Japanese have had some success with a drug, can't recall details. Sounds like there might end up being multiple drugs that prove to be effective at treating the seriously ill patients.
  17. Well, I guess I was wrong. They have done some analysis on the asymptomatic transmission. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/03/200316143313.htm
  18. 14 days will certainly hamper the spread significantly, so that is just a ridiculous take. Will it stop it completely? We won't know. All of this information is preliminary so they are adjusting the strategies as new information becomes available. As for the asymptomatic people and the transmission, I have yet to see anything conclusive on how long that period of being contagious would last. I think that is something they are likely studying but I wouldn't expect much in the way of conclusions for a while. I know that at least I am trying to be educated on the issue, read about it as new information becomes available and actually spread that information. All I see you doing is spraying text in here with no sources but pretty hard beliefs. That speaks volumes. Good luck with that.
  19. Well, it hasn't changed him being an asshole from the early reports.
  20. The more I see your posts, the more I am convinced you are just freaking out and that no amount of data will change that. I posted the incubation data and the early data about how long it is contagious. What else do you want?

  22. https://www.jwatch.org/na51083/2020/03/13/covid-19-incubation-period-update Some of the preliminary China data seems to back that idea.
  23. TBH, IMO the push towards another great depression will largely be because of these quarantine measures. This virus and the reactions to it are exposing how fragile our economy is. It is also highlighting how deep the problem of income inequality is.
  24. I have actually heard the same from a friend. If they start mobilizing the military and declare martial law, this country is over. Mark my words. And people wishing for this, be careful what you ask for.
