RAS also has a "size" portion of it, which can skew it against players that aren't in the "ideal" category. It definitely can highlight guys that are elite athletes. If you look at the Panthers historic RAS scores, a large portion of our elite players are in that Elite to Above Average category. Brown will never be a guy like Donald or Cox or Jenkins. But he can blow people off the line, create for our other pass rushers and generally disrupt plays. That is where his value is. He just needs to become a more sure tackler and work on his array of pass rush moves. If he can smooth out the rough edges, he can be an 8-10 year starter for us.

Well, you just don't know how to Google, which isn't super surprising. Try looking up his RAS. For reference, it's a fair amount lower than Kris Jenkins(who was an above average athlete via that metric). He isn't a bad athlete but he is definitely not an elite athlete, especially by NFL standards. But that isn't necessary at his position he just needs to be explosive in short windows.

He isn't really even a super athlete he is just so freakishly strong.
-
Imagine him when he actually has a polished pass rush game.

Settle down, Francis. Quit being so emo.

You like this tactic but it ultimately makes me believe you are a teenager.

Gross is definitely not undervalued by our fans because that position had been such a dumpster fire since he left. In a large part it aided in losing our franchise QB to injuries. I would say Gross was undervalued by the rest of the NFL fans, though.

How was what he said wrong? There is zero question he was the best LT the Panthers have ever fielded. There is zero question Gross was a top 10 LT in the NFL for the bulk of his career. But he also isn't a HOF LT either. We love him because he is OUR great player. That doesn't necessarily mean that the rest of the league sees him that way. Another good example of that is Steve Smith. He is my all-time favorite Panther. IMO, he's a first ballot HOFer because he was the best pound for pound WR I have ever seen. But, he may not end up as a first ballot HOF guy because a lot of people don't consider him HOF caliber. I disagree but that's because I am inherently biased about it.

Fletcher Cox. I have seen that dude dominate games before. Not quite as consistently as Donald, though.

This is true. And both were all-time Panther greats.

Stanley Cup Playoffs: Round Two, Game 3

Anytime you push to being one game from elimination, every game becomes a must win. If we go down 3-1, the odds of winning are really low -

If you are Rod, do you start Ned or Mrazek in Game 4? -

Caught snippets of it on a flight from Denver to Detroit. Missed the GWG. It was a must win. Sadly, so is the next game. -
Panthers moving Chinn to safety. Thoughts?

Yeah, this staff seems to not really differentiate. -

Yeah, this was the offseason of depth. We got a boatload of guys that should be solid backups and a few potential starters. If we start having to move guys around to full in, something went pretty terribly wrong. -

I thought this was the title of a self help book.

If he has to play LB this season, I will go ahead and assume things have gone pretty poorly for the defense. -

Yeah, the worst part was that he was carrying the gun that we were toting for these situations. -

I once ran up on a bear that was sleeping(hiking on the App. Trail) and he wasn't too pleased to see me. Got up roaring and my fight or flight instinct failed me, because I squared up on him with my hiking poles like they were fuging lightsabers. Luckily he opted to high tail it just like my buddy who was right behind me. -

This is where he could be special, at safety. -
Yep. The NFL wants to keep more of the pie, so roster size increases won't happen.

I don't want to criticize how anyone was raised, but that isn't how you make chicken soup.
