NFL Sunday Ticket’s last season (with DirectTV)
kungfoodude replied to onmyown's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you don't allow streaming in the modern era, you will lose advertising revenue and subscribers. The days of the majority of people having cable or satellite TV are coming to an end. -

Satellite is so trash. Being in any sports bar with it is frustrating as the signal gets lost when you have more than two clouds in the sky. -
Stanley Cup Playoffs: Round Two, Game 4
kungfoodude replied to Harbingers's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
How in four games did we go from a fanbase excited about our team, it's present and future to being a bunch of entitled complainers that want to tear this all to the ground?? I don't know about you guys but I don't want to see the Canes be the Panthers and go back into the cellar with dysfunctional management and overmatched coaches. Rod is fine. The dude is 120-66-20 to start his career here with three straight playoff appearances. And this is a CRAZY young team. Maybe stay the fuging course and keep making the necessary tweaks to build this into a championship squad. Do you guys see the Caps or Bruins or even Lightning tearing their squads down and firing their coaches? No. And they all choked hard before they won their recent titles. It happens. We will learn from it and just get better. -

You guys are clearly forgetting the pre-Rod era. -

Rhule America? -
Okay, PJ. It isn't my fault you aren't the guy. The USFL is starting up so you will be fine.

PJ is not an NFL caliber player.

Stanley Cup Playoffs: Round Two, Game 4

Agreed. That is a lot of free money to help us improve. Ned is clearly the future and Dougie is awesome but was just never the same player after that leg injury. -

Agreed. We will circle circle wagons in the next game and lose in Tampa. It was a great season and it is a shame to see it all be for naught. Glad we are a young team, though. It will be interesting to see how we look next year without some guys(Mrazek, Dougie, etc). -
How much of the Jets performance was really on Darnold?
kungfoodude replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed. I was very concerned about Teddy's contract but the way they saw that go down makes me a lot less anxious about Darnold. We don't have to worry about him being a long term bad investment. -

We changed staff since last year? You are assuming they are married to Darnold. I am very doubtful that is the case. They seem to be married to winning and success. If Darnold isn't the guy in 2021, he'll be gone in 2022. -

And they signed Teddy to a three year deal. The one thing that is true is that the staff has shown very little patience for players that aren't it. If Darnold isn't it, he won't be here. -

I don't think he will get any longer leash than he is the only option this season. It's basically him or nothing. -

True. Ultimately it will boil down to winning. If he can win us games, his tenure will extend to 2022. If not, he'll be shipped out like Teddy was. -

It's unfortunate we just didn't have to horses to get past a team this good in the postseason. We need to take that lesson back to Raleigh for the offseason. No matter what the level is during the regular season, there is a next level in the postseason. We have struggled to reach that next level. -

Ultra lucky to not have been swept in this series. For a variety of reasons this has been a disappointment playoff wise but we have a great future and great core. -

I don't think he has to be a Pro Bowler but he has to be close to Jake Delhomme. We all love Jake but that isn't a high bar to clear. -
I realize that seeing stats that don't fit within your bias probably upset you. Don't be sad. Most people are dumb and you just happen to be most people.

I don't think Darnold has long to prove himself. If he is mediocre to bad this season, he is probably not going to be a Panther in 2022. This staff doesn't seem to have any desire to keep guys around that don't play at the level they need them to nor do they appear to want to preside over losing teams. 2021 is a make it or break it year for Darnold. -
Well, the stats case for Darnold is about as bad as you could make for a starting QB. In truth, we only have one NFL caliber QB on the roster in Darnold and he is likely a #2 QB at best(decent chance he is a #3 QB). Oh well, maybe it will be less frustrating to watch than Teddy for a year.

Yeah, we are betting on long shots in the all college staff and a reclamation bust QB. You just have to hope that one or more of the gambles works. I guess ultimately that is all you need. -

I think Delhomme is about right as far as his ceiling. He will never be an elite franchise QB but if everything goes his way he might be able to be as good as Delhomme was. His ceiling is honestly less concerning than his floor.
