Agreed. Hasn't wowed me or pissed me off this offseason, mostly a bunch of "meh." The draft will determine my early impression.

If we draft a new QB, why would we start Grier? So we can get a top 5 pick to take another QB in 2022? I am not seeing the logic here.

I am not against adding another elite WR but Anderson and Moore are coming up on deals. I would think making that move would signal that one of them isn't returning. Otherwise, it's definitely ignoring much more pressing needs.

Exactly. Pitts just isn't good value for a team with the kind of needs that we have. That said, I wouldn't really grumble for very long if we did draft him. I'd be annoyed that we wasted a pick on a guy that was a luxury selection when we aren't in a position to make that decision.

Eh...that's not a 1:1 comparison for a couple of reasons. Drew was traded in 2002, when he had just turned 30 years old. So, he wasn't in his prime like Deshaun is currently(who is only 25). That is also from a time when playing late into your 30's wasn't quite as common as it seems to be in today's NFL(which I directly attribute to very QB friendly rule changes over the last decade). Drew actually retired from the NFL 4 years after that trade.

Drew Bledsoe was a four time Pro-Bowl player, so he was a very solid NFL QB. At the moment, Watson's stats through the first four years(with less games played than Drew) are mostly ahead of Bledsoe's. Pretty stark differences in efficiency ratings, TD:INT ratio, etc. Comparable at some level but Watson is on a pretty accelerated track to eclipse him and leave him behind.

Honestly, if you just want a special teams/goal line guy, it's possible to get that as a UDFA too.
