I don't keep score with 99% of people in here. I come here to debate and I don't care if disagreements happen. The entire point of this place is to have healthy debates and discussions. It doesn't need to be an echo chamber of my own opinions. The only real animosity I probably have is the occasional trolling I will do of some of the dumber posters in here. Which, they are mostly now on my ignore list(which needed to be expanded anyway). No reason to derail threads just because I might get entertained insulting some nitwits. That's being part of the problem.

That may seem like the case but typically players that can't seem to stay healthy don't waver from that trend. As the 4ManRush guys say, "Availability is an ability." Yeah. It is what it is. You don't tear a roster down to frame like we did and then recover quickly. It looks like we are moving in the right direction overall. We just need to figure out some of the more critical things, like QB, OL, LB, etc.

It's one of those coin flip things. I looked at it multiple times and he does get there early. Hard to say if he hooks the body from that angle. If so, that almost always draws a flag. Even if he got flagged, it was good coverage so I wouldn't be very upset.

I wouldn't be super mad about that play even if it was a flag. He played it well.

I am not freaking out about him in camp and practices but he is not a rookie. That narrative is completely ridiculous. If he is struggling 5-8 games into the season, there will be no "oh well we just have to wait for him to get some experience" people outside some of our true dolts. It's gonna be Teddy 2.0 treatment. As I said before training camp even started, none of this really matters for Darnold, good or bad. We will know what Darnold is when the bullets are flying in a real game.

I would rather he have a shitty completion percentage that be heaving balls to the defense. Maybe it's not a great result but if he really is able to clean up his bad decisions, that's at least progress.

As injury prone as he has been as a QB, I don't think he'd hold up to that grind at LB. Can't be worse than Whitehead though.

Abnormal historically but we may see this a lot more considering the shorter preseason and longer regular season. Without one? Sam Darnold has never played a full 16 game schedule at any point in his career. He actually does have a significant injury history.

Exactly. It's a process and we are much closer to the beginning than the end. I am absolutely pumped about our DL, I am cautiously optimistic about our secondary and our LB's......well.....I am sure they will get a participation trophy.

This is basically what I expected. That was why I thought that this "top 10 defense" stuff was nonsense. That secondary is largely very, very inexperienced players. It's gonna take some time before they are elite.

It doesn't need to be addressed. Everyone is well aware that fan enthusiasm isn't going to be high for a bust QB. As I said, it is what it is. The only thing that is going to change that dynamic is winning games and Darnold playing well. So, for the purposes of this thread, why don't we just close this part of the discussion?

Look, there is really no reason to beat the PJ war drums at the moment. He ain't selling poo for jerseys either, even if he was a starter. Darnold is the guy, plenty of us have qualms about that but it just is what it is. Let's not derail the practice thread with this stuff. Let's just save those for the umpteen Darnold or PJ threads we already have and the dozens yet to come.
