Dougie....WTF, man. -

This has the feel of some of our regular season losses to them. Had long stretches of dominant play but just couldn't quite get the puck into the net. Hopefully we can settle down and start banging them in. -

Here they come. Time to grind it out. -

Hate that we didn't bang at least one in. Hopefully we keep that momentum up. -

Want a goal in this period, though. It will suck to not have capitalized on all this momentum. -
In fairness, that bar isn't high.

We keep getting high caliber chances and their goalie is letting up rebounds. If we can bang one in, I think the floodgates open. -

We look sharp early. I like it. -
With the addition of a 17th game, there is going to be a discrepancy in comparing statistics since 1978(when the 16 game schedule was first adopted). It will be subtle but per game stats will be important to remember when we start seeing season records fall and compare previous years to 2021 and beyond. Just something to keep in mind for our guys and the league as a whole.

Christian McCaffrey Workload in 2021
kungfoodude replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, he actually hasn't ever had 300 carries in a season. I think him being between 250-300 carries is about right. That should leave at least 100-150 carries for "other" backs. -
In fairness, we also still don't have a franchise QB, so we won't be sacrificing someone of Cam's caliber. Still, I don't see why you trade for a guy to get pummeled in his first(and likely last) year with us.

I think his carries will remain about the same. I say receptions because if everything is working out, our WR corps is feasting. -

I think they fell into that trap last year. I hope they avoid it and spread the ball around this year. If our offense is clicking, CMC should have a career low in receptions. -
Eight Carolina Panthers Who Could Have a Break Out 2021 Season

He was our last end zone threat. KB was before that. -

We have been lacking a consistent end zone thread since Olsen left. Although, Teddy had a lot to do with that. -

McGinnis is hot. Curious to see how that line works too. -
Yeah, similar to here. Pretty sure that is why we have JAGS at TE. We need them to fit a role, not carry the load.

Slye seems the least likely of those to succeed. If we put Jackson in the slot and Horn can hold his own in his rookie year, our CB's could be special. Maybe Jackson has a 5+ INT season. -
TE usage in their passing game was still rather low. Especially compared to some of the NFL offenses with elite TE's in the NFL.

Christian McCaffrey Workload in 2021
kungfoodude replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Oh he has been a coach long enough to know contracts don't mean much in terms of keeping your job. I agree that possibly the biggest problem is how easy it is to just give the ball to your best player and let him carry you. The problem being, we have SO MANY good to great offensive weapons. Why do that now? This isn't like the years where it was just Cam having to do it all. -

Apparently that is the "standard." -

You need to check the last decade+. That doesn't happen anymore. -

Yeah and coaches don't look long term, they need to win now. -

So you want to increase his workload by 5-40% over his highest ever???! That is completely unreasonable. Do you want him to out of the league in two seasons??
