5 Timid Predictions for the Carolina Panthers 2021
kungfoodude replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, if that is your version of timid.....your bold takes must be something. -
Luckily when actual football starts, the crybaby crowd will just be minor background noise as opposed to the loudest minority in the forum. Sort of the the rest of the social media/media world. The loudest people drown out the reasonable voices. And we won't have to worry about the couple of player hopping additions, they will all go away shortly. Same as every other "player" fan that surfs over from a college team or NFL franchise. I think @Toomers is literally the only one that actually stuck around any length of time.

5 Timid Predictions for the Carolina Panthers 2021

I think betting on our OL to be mediocre to bad is one of the safest bets for the Panthers, historically. -
We've all seen so many "bold" predictions, but what about not-so-bold predictions? Give me your 5 most lily livered predictions for the Carolina Panthers in 2021. - CMC will win the starting RB job. - Greg Little will continue to suck. - Mick Mixon will continue to average 2.78 homoerotic comments a game. - The Huddle will wail with angst at the final JAG camp cuts. - DJ Moore will continue to produce at a high level in 2021, despite our small contingent of Moore haterz.

Top 5-10 is probably more of an accurate statement. Fair point.
-
He has a high ceiling, so he can definitely be more than a space eater. We will see if he can become a dominant interior guy.
-
His ceiling could be quite high. I am not disappointed.
-
Typically, only the elite pass rushing DT's get drafted in the top 15. Being that space eater is a very important but those guys don't typically command huge salaries or get drafted that highly. Like I said, I get the theory behind it but I think he was the right choice.
-
The theory they are working on is basically the positional value aspect. I do understand that to a point. But, we were in REALLY bad shape on that interior and Brown was a high caliber and relatively safe prospect.

Were you here last offseason? Do you not remember our roster? Easily the worst roster we have ever fielded. -

They did actually exceed most expectations. -

I don't know if we will make any post camp signings. Curious to see what Fitt's philosophy is on that. -

We have seen lot of question marks on the roster, IMO. QB, LT, LG, RG, S, LB, DT, WR, LS, K, TE, CB. We still don't really know we have answers to those questions yet. If we have even half of those answers, it was a good offseason. -

Thanks for your insight. A truly valuable post. -
I didn't ask that question. It was clear there was a rebuild ongoing. It is clear there is still a rebuild ongoing.

I was scratching my head about them when we signed them precisely for those reasons. They were likely to be available later in free agency and potentially cheaper. It isn't like they were can't miss, high demand guys. They are really backup/depth caliber guys. I will be perfectly happy being wrong and Fit looking like a genius but I am just not seeing it. It's hard to explain.
