  1. I mean, I wouldn't read too much into something non-football related like that. I think 95% of the players in the NFL are going to be good with treating kids well in such scenarios. You would kind of have to be a real monster otherwise.
  2. Social media is the greatest poison of the last 20 years. I firmly believe that history will judge it to be worse than the opium epidemic.
  3. Good isn't the bar, better than what we have is. The point is we keep getting worse at the position, not better. That trend can't continue.
  4. If the future of coverage is a overflowing sewer like TikTok, I guess I am just not seeing coverage.
  5. I would disagree on the window being now. If Young pans out to be a franchise QB, the window is basically his career effective length. Outside of him, there is really very little PROVEN talent on the roster. So, I think the window for non-QB talent has yet to be reached at all. This is a building process and not anything close to a finished product.
  6. Okay. I haven't been in years so I was under the assumption it was new. I didn't realize it was a decade old.
  7. You did stop before his near best in the NFL year. He was significantly better than any kicker we have had since Gano. The biggest issues were leg strength and his declining performance over time.
  8. I did a little look after you posted this. I wanted to see how long it has been since each NFL franchise experienced 36 or less wins in a 7 season span(not including partial seasons) in the Super Bowl era(1967-Present). Arizona: 1999-2005(36 wins) Atlanta: 1984-1990(31 wins) Baltimore: Never Buffalo: 1967-1973(26 wins) Chicago: 1970-1976(34 wins) Cincinnati: 1996-2002(34 wins) Cleveland: 2013-2019(28 wins) Dallas: Never Denver: 1967-1973(34 wins) Detroit: 2007-2013(36 wins) Green Bay: Never Houston: Never Indianapolis: 1981-1987(31 wins) Jacksonville: 2015-2021(33 wins) Kansas City: Never Las Vegas: 2005-2011(36 wins) LA Chargers: 1997-2003(35 wins) LA Rams: 2008-2014(32 wins) Miami: Never Minnesota: Never New England: 1989-1995(35 wins) New Orleans: 1980-1986(36 wins) NY Giants: 1974-1980(31 wins) NY Jets: 2018-2024(36 wins) Philadelphia: 1972-1978(36 wins) Pittsburgh: Never San Francisco: 1974-1980(34 wins) Seattle: Never Tampa: 1988-1994(35 wins) Tennessee: 1982-1988(35 wins) Washington: Never
  9. That did get lost a lot in the excitement that he was finally playing competent football. He was basically a bottom third of the NFL starting caliber QB. We don't need to see more of the same, we need to see improvement and really, a lot of it.
  10. The Panthers bot sucked much harder because team propoganda is trash. I consume zero team generated material anymore. Tepper ruined that too. I mean, be the change you want to see. Throw up a couple of threads based on other content creators. It's less an issue with that guy posting the one source than I think it is that Huddle interaction during TC has steadily declined.
  11. I mean a lot of our starters are young guys that need reps. Outside RB, OL, AT, and Brown...who doesn't either need more NFL reps or just reps with this Panthers team in general?
  12. I mean, given the general lack of threads being started at all, I don't think we need to do that level of housekeeping yet.
  13. The financials across the board make zero sense for us. Both with trading Brown away and paying Parsons $40+ mil AAV. The big argument was the value versus value of Parsons vs. DB+3rd. The answer was very, very, VERY, clearly: Parson >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> DB+3rd
  14. TBH, overall Panthers content has gone downhill as the franchise has. Even the Hornets have better quality content creators involved than the Panthers do now, IMO. I get it. Fan engagement for the Panthers has to be near record lows at this point.
  15. Why fail with a journeyman who has never really made it? Even if it's rocky with the rookie, there is more of a chance of him figuring it out than there is for a borderline kicker to suddenly become great.
  16. He is very accurate on 50+ kicks(11/14 career) but the limit of his range is literally probably 53-54 yards. We often chose to avoid kicking because of that. Gonzalez is not the answer either. Better off attempting new guys over and over in the hopes one will eventually pan out. "Luckily" we have been a very bad team, so it hasn't reared it's head much. I mean, I hope we even have the opportunity to trash a kicker for missing a GW FG of consequence in the next few seasons. That would be strangely refreshing.
  17. If the concern on Gano was his health, the move was correct. Not on the financial side. It has proven to be foolish. As I said, both of those guys have had success post-Panthers while we have floundered at the position since them. I said when we got rid of Gano that we would regret it and we definitely have. Even with Butker and Gano declining in effectiveness over the years since, they are still far better than what we have had since. If the FSU kid doesn't pan out, we will be right back here next offseason.
  18. The GenX and Millenials are the bulk of the fanbase. Boomers usually had their allegiances already by the time 1995 rolled around. Gen Z and whatever the next one is will have an extremely small Panthers fanbase. Even my die hard Panther friends(who have dwindled to almost nothing) don't really bother exposing their kids to the team anymore. I get it. The NFL and football are going to decline significantly in domestic popularity sooner rather than later. It's just inevitable as US demographics and even moreso engagement is sharply declining in those ranks. The NFL's future will depend on their ability to build an international audience, IMO. There is literally no growth potential domestically in 10-15 years. It's nothing new. The MLB, NASCAR and the NHL had had these declines in my lifetime. The MLB ended up recovering, the NHL is attempting to do so. NASCAR is probably not going to recover.
  19. I think the 7 straight losing seasons, the campaign to reduce fan interest during training camp and the lightspeed stupid decision to start charging for Fan Fest took a toll.
  20. Had we kept Gano or Butker, we wouldn't be in this situation. Literally either of the options available at that time have been far better than what we ended up with. Such is the Tepper era Panthers for you, however. Nothing different.
  21. Well one problem seems to be that almost all our attempts to "upgrade" end up actually downgrading. Pinero was the exception in that he was leaps and bounds better than Slye and the randos in between. Although, Eddy's FG% started exceptional and consistently went down each year. I don't believe we will have an answer this offseason and may not for a long time, given our track record of evaluating that position.
  22. XL is the highest ceiling and the lowest floor on the roster for WR's. I also think Renfrow will play a big role if he can stay healthy. He is significantly better than most of our young WR's.
  23. poo, what has XL done? Coker is far better in comparison, especially when you consider targets/opportunities. The point being, our fans are putting way too many eggs in the XL/Tmac/Coker/Horn basket. If AT and Renfrow just fuging work, they need the reps. It's not just about the development of those young WR's, it's about figuring out if we have a franchise QB or not. That's a significantly more important question to answer. Doesn't mean I want to jettison those guys.
  24. Not to mention that our younger players have yet to proven to be anywhere near the level of "proven." I don't think we have the luxury to be getting rid of effective players.
