It's a process. Consider how far we stripped the roster down and how much building had to be done. We can debate the finer points of what we should have done or shouldn't have done but if we are ultimately getting better as a team, we don't need to lose our poo. I don't love the moves we made this offseason but I do think our staff is capable of learning from their mistakes. These deficient units will get corrected in future offseasons. -

On queue the delusional part shows up. -
Be careful. You will draw the ire of the Sunshine Squad. Jabs aside, I would be wary of trading at LT unless we can get a genuine long term answer. If not, stand pat and regroup in 2022.

I can get the delusional portion of the fanbase continuing to be stupid the rest of ya'll need to chill. We get more reps tomorrow and throughout the preseason. Some of these deficiencies will get sorted out(secondary specifically, IMO). We aren't going to the Super Bowl in 2021. There, let's get past that. Just focus on being better as a TEAM. If the OL, QB, LB's, etc suck that is a correctable thing. We can fix a couple of units on the team. Think about this, how exciting was our DL against one of the best OL units in the NFL? -

In fairness, when you have an underwhelming unit, throwing poo against the wall to see if it sticks isn't an invalid strategy. -

Underprepared is a bit harsh. That is just plain a better team than we are. The secondary getting beat like that is mildly disappointing but I wouldn't get worried about that yet. If we are looking at shades of 2020 halfway through the season, I would be concerned. -

It won't be any different than the Jets other than a bunch of great offensive weapons. The truth is, even though we aren't exactly setting him up for success, he needs to show he can better markedly better than he was in NY. Not just a smidgen but noticeably. That has been what it was likely to be all offseason. -

I mean, obviously those were objectively bad signings. The truth is, it is abhigh probability they will look as bad in hindsight as they did at the time. But, on the "positive" side, I think the OL will be bad enough this year that perhaps it will break our coaching staff of the current "college" mindset that they have when it comes to OL. I do think it eventually turns around. It will just take them learning some hard lessons. This is a very underappreciated aspect of our coaching staff, how they are still very "young" and learning too. That is why I laugh so much at the sunshiners with their perpetual delusion. The owner basically told us this was a process. I hated it initially but I am all in now. We have to figure it out and just plain get better. My guess is, enough of our team will be better in 2021 to show there is hope. QB/OL/LB may not be successful, but I think most of the rest of the units will show enough improvements to give us what we desire. That being, a path forward. -

That was why when they kept talking up "versatility" it was hard not to roll my eyes. I don't disagree with that idea but the most important thing is ABILITY. We literally signed guys that have very little -

Anyone with half a brain knew those were bad signings unless they were specifically backups. Didn't make sense then, doesn't make sense now. -

True but Chinn was used as a LB(probably shouldn't have been) in 2020. Horn is literally a rookie. The only one we should expect more from is Jackson. -

Yeah, I wasn't super high on that pick(OL fever) but this may end up being the pick of our 2021 draft. I will also say that the guys that were hyping him as our new #2 WR...... might be on to something. -

I don't see a way this guy doesn't make the active roster. For all the Huddle UDFA/low round love, we all missed the boat on this kid. -

I don't think there is a best five. I think we have two decent to good guys and a bunch of JAGS or works in progress. Like I said before the season, we shored up the depth this offseason. As in, we have a roster full of decent backups. -

I don't think it was that disappointing. I could not understand the hype. We are expecting a rookie to turn into Jalen Ramsey. That's absurd. Outside of DJack, it is literally a bunch of relatively unknown quantities. It may take them a while to gel and figure it out. We don't need to be better than 2020 today. We need to be better than 2020 by the end of the season. -

Expectations should have been tempered anyway. Some of the absolutely idiotic things that have been thrown around here are completely ridiculous and actually rather unfair for what is a really fuging young team. People need to calm down, expect ups and downs and just enjoy watching some of our young guys mature and get better. -

I mean, the shuffle tells the story and we knew it even if we didn't want to believe it. They are absolutely garbage. But why should this surprise anyone? These are literally guys being who they have always been(queue the Dennis Green speech). IMO, that part of the team is basically shot and is going to be bad all year. I am not going to get too perturbed over it. It was expected. Look at our DL and WR's though. Those units are shining against good units on the other side of the ball. Thar is very encouraging. Hell, maybe we even get something half assed good out of Darnold. -

I think those numbers aren't that good if our DL is allowed to hit them. We probably still have a lot of work to do on the back end of the D but that DL will be fierce all year long. -

It wouldn't matter that much. Our OL was going to look shaky no matter what. This should literally shock zero people. -

Guys, no reason to flip poo. It's a process. Any reasonable person knew that "top 10 defense" talk was ridiculous. Baby steps. If we have across the board improvements on that unit over the course of the season, at least we are on the right path. Seems like a mixed bag overall but basically what I think the more reasonable Panther fans expected. Some good, some bad. Still a work in progress and that's okay. -

The closest thing to a must-win game in years?
kungfoodude replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Basically this. It probably hurts Darnold a little but I don't think it should get the team down too much. 16 more games to play after that one. -

He's a standard issue dumbass. NASCAR reporter that ESPN figured "2 birds, 1 stone!" with the Panthers assignment. -

Yeah, and depending on the wrinkles we may not have the cushion we did last year. All new staff to figure out last season.
