  1. It appears that we believe we can simply use an H-Back or TE to fill in for a FB. Not 100% sure I agree but if we are honest with ourselves, having the best FB in the NFL isn't going to accomplish much with the OL getting blown up like they were on those plays. I think we can be fine with a "make do" option at FB if we fix those issues. Much more critical than finding a FB.
  2. Well, if that speculation is correct, I am just going to go ahead and say that we will never have a good offensive line with this staff. If we are dumb enough to think that Pat Elflein is our future at center(same as Erving as our future at LT), that isn't dumb that is fixable. And if you don't think Paradis is great, I am not sure what you think Elflein will be. Less great? I am all for replacing Paradis, but not for some discarded roster trash that the Jets wouldn't even keep.
  3. Paradis is literally probably our second best lineman at the moment. We definitely don't have the luxury of sending him down the depth chart because he is overpaid for what we received. Elflein was apparently so effective at center that after drafting him, he was replaced by another draft pick by his team. He's a depth player, not an NFL starter. Get the young guys in there that have a chance to improve and be something. Elflein isn't that.
  4. Or when after 2019 you literally burned the entire roster to the ground. This was always going to be the hard part of the rebuild, gaining quality depth. That can't happen in one offseason unless we want to be in perpetual cap hell again. It will likely take 2+ offseasons more to start putting a significant dent in that problem.
  5. So we can watch him suck there too? How about move him to his most natural position...on the pine?
  6. They are both relevant because either are superior to the current kicker.
  7. Speaks to how bad our roster was/is. It will take a few years to see that improve. But, you don't do what we did to our roster and expect to have great depth for a while.
  8. Well, #1 we haven't seen Marshall play a single game yet so as excited as we are all getting, maybe we should slow down on the coronation process. Also, even if he is a stud, by the time his rookie deal is up, Robby may be nearing the end of his new contract(purely speculation until we see the kind of deal Robby signs). I can understand the concerns about the deal brewing but we need to see terms before we judge harshly or infer much about what we plan on doing with Moore.
  9. I get the "potential" aspect of the signing. In fairness, for every glaring red flag, we also see some real strengths. Ultimately it will just boil down to how quickly he can navigate the NFL learning curve. I think he can be a successful NFL head coach, but will it be in this stop?
  10. I'm in NC at the moment. I am only awake because I woke up mid-hangover and it is making it hard to sleep. I travel all over and can be in a lot of different time zones and working a variety of shifts. That is why I am sometimes on here at very odd hours.
  11. Everyone gets hyped for preseason and then about half a game into it gets annoyed and just wants real football back. That's really why preseason football has always sucked. It's not the real thing.
  12. Well we shouldn't be freaking out because we rarely see our starters anyway. We have zero idea what we have as a team yet. Except for Slye. We just keep seeing how awful he is.
  13. How long are we gonna see 70+77 riding the pine because they aren't in our "best five?"
  14. If Sam doesn't work out and we sign Trubisky to solve our QB issue, I am gonna be shoveling coal into the boiler of the Fire Rhule train.
  15. Anyone who liked the idea of keeping Slye over Gano at this point will be hiding under a rock. I am not sure how much more evidence needs to be piled up to show how bad Slye is. He's a one trick pony. He can be trotted out there to try 60-70 yard FG's that he will have enough leg for, but will never make anyway. What a trick.
  16. I view them in completely different lights. Jackson has had much more success in his NFL career than Darnold. Darnold has had next to none and shown very little evidence of even being capable of improving. I'd like to eat a lot of crow on that statement but I fear I will not.
  17. I don't think we would be looking at him on a pricey contract unless he has a big year, in which he also stays completely healthy. Not sure we would have a ton of competition for him if it comes down to wanting a really big deal. My guy feeling is that not many in the NFL are gonna be giving him a #1 CB contract.
  18. Also believe he is top 10(or close)in Panthers history in INT's after his rookie contract. Agree he is all over the map but one thing he definitely is, the best playmaker we have had in our secondary in a long time.
  19. Okay, can I get a roll call of all the goofy fugs that kept spreading this idiot conspiracy theory about Robby not wanting to be here? Just go ahead and check in here for your lashing.
  20. Large beer share with charcuterie, smoked pulled pork, etc.
