We get it, you have a crush on Sam Darnold and can't see any of his flaws.

With the Jets OL, you are gonna keep seeing Jets Sam. It wasn't Adam Gase making him throw to the other team for 3 straight seasons any more than it is Joe Brady making him throw to the other team now. He's a gunslinger that doesn't make great decisions under constant pressure. We are a team that is going to provide him with constant pressure. It just is what it is.

Well, that's why a lot of us were concerned about having the highest paid RB in the NFL combined with a very, very, very high usage rate. The history of those two things has not been kind. I'll make an odd statement about it......it actually sucks that CMC isn't just above average. Had this just been a Hurney/Gettleman overpay, we could have just cut our losses and jettisoned him already. In a strange way, it's unfortunate that he is arguably the best RB in the NFL and definitively the best dual threat RB in the NFL. His greatness may make us hold on longer than we should if the next couple of seasons are also injury plagued. I am not predicting that nor certainly want that, just pointing out that it is a real possibility.

I'd rather he sit 5-6 games and come back healthy than try and make it work and then play a game, miss 3 games, play a game, miss 3 games, play a game.....

Small picture(week to week) this is true. Big picture(17 game season), it's not a must win game. But....the more games you lose, the more games start to become "must win" if you want to have any meaningful success. I went into this season expecting 6-9 wins, so we are already tracking pretty well for my expectation level.

The NFL uses college football as an unaffiliated minor league system but bitches about the quality of the players produced by the unaffiliated minor league system. Imagine that.

I love that your "ranking" on this board is how you identify as a "fan." I don't really even have to do anything but goad you into showing everyone how much of a "fan" you are. Robby hasn't been perfect but I don't think many are questioning his "effort" except a certain Darnold fanboy. The truth is(keep in mind this is for actual Panthers fans, so you can stop reading if you'd like), Darnold has been better than any of his doubters thought(myself included) but we are still seeing Jets Darnold all too often. The blame going largely to Gase and the Jets is going to start to fade away if that continues for 12 more games. It's actually unfortunate because he has far greater weapons and supposedly a better scheme yet still has Jets-like protection. Not quite apples to apples but too close for comfort.

I am up for any amount of shuffling necessary at this point. Normally I am all about stability and whatnot.....but this poo is just bad.

Our resident non-Panthers fan/Darnold super fan is up early today. Darnold deserves as much blame as Robby.

I think some of that is true about Brady but our OL personnel quality is also a big factor. It would be interesting to take a look at the CMC vs. no-CMC stats in 2020-2021, as well.

Hopefully a lot in the draft

That is what I am banking on, that they have been good at adjusting and realizing mistakes on personnel.

The truth is that is a valuable quality in a BACKUP not a starter. Furthermore, you need to actually be good at one of those positions for that to matter. This is what I kept harping on all offseason. Versatility is irrelevant if you AREN'T GOOD AT ANY OF THOSE POSITIONS. Being right about those two is so fuging INSANELY FRUSTRATING. I just cannot fathom how laymen like myself can fuging see this poo but these guys couldn't. fug it pisses me off so much.

This was literally what so many of us said prior to the season. Not only suck, BUT CAN'T fuging STAY HEALTHY. Don't get me wrong, we made more good than bad moves in the offseason but fug me running, those two were so obviously bad.

I actually was. They have stunk from game one onward. We just have more competent opponents with better film on us. Also, our shitty starters have been replaced by more shittu starters. As for Sam, yeah, we are seeing Jets Darnold now. But, we also have been giving him a Jets quality OL. It's possible he is salvageable as the guy until we get the guy but not trotting out bottom 5 OL's. We always say that any QB wouldn't be successful behind this OL but Sam Darnold has 3+ years of proving he is basically the worst QB in the NFL behind a bottom 5 OL. That is why it was so mind boggling when we were clearly assembling a bottom 5 OL. I mean....CLEARLY

Yep. I hated him from that moment onward. I couldn't possibly care less about the flag thing.

TBH, I don't think there is a "much better" version of the OL waiting for us, no matter the moves we make.

It is hard to scheme away that big of a weakness, unfortunately.

I think the odds of a trade windfall are slim. Fitt seemed to indicate that. I would rather not overpay for a guy when we still need 4-6 more guys to shore that line up.
