    I have seen little indication of Evero learning much. He seems to be a guy that believes in his system thoroughly, for better or worse.

    Simmons has never been successful at anything in the NFL. He is true blue bust. Keep in mind as both a LB and S in his career he is allowing a 100.9 QB rating in his career. He gets picked on in pass coverage when he is on the field. This is fairly similar to the much maligned Nick Scott's career QB rating He can be a deep reserve for us and a potential special teams ace. Hey, everyone needs backups and having them that are also great special teamers is a huge boost.

    Yeah, I think people forget that we basically benched Chinn for a lot of that season. He had to dedicate resources to more effective players that fit his defense like DJ Johnson, Trevin Wallace and Christian Rozebum. Glad we extended this guy.

    I don't think a 28 year old(which he will be in 2026) safety project is a very wise choice. Also, consider that we had the tremendously more talented and effective version of what you are talking about with Jeremy Chinn and Evero wanted nothing to do with him. Doesn't fit his defense. Simmons is a special teams player at this point in his career. As long as he is very good at that, let it be what it is.

    It was 2 years and $6.185 mil. That's around what we should probably be offering.

    I hope we don't get too aggressive and start the Matt Rhule "ALMOST THERE" BS. This is a very bad NFL roster with at least three good offseasons before it's a good roster. I really don't want to see more Wharton's or Robert Hunt's. Less of that, please.

    He has a ton of talent but he is another long term developmental guy. The idea that he is a first rounder is ludicrous. Now, we have seen crazier QB picks so it COULD happen but the team making that choice should get roasted for the decision.

    Pavia is basically significantly less talented and much smaller Sam Darnold. He has even less QB experience than Darnold had. He is likely a long term developmental prospect and not really someone that could be relied on to be a quality #2 QB. He would be great as a #3 or PS QB to develop.

    I suspect it will not go well. They certainly have some talent but still lack a QB and some other pieces. At best, they might rise to fringe playoff competitor. Now, this is also with the prospect of Washington about to be going through a HC change and Philly in turmoil. Could end up backing into a weak division.

    Yeah, notice how his feet are set and he is able to drive the ball downfield. That rarely happens here. Also, you are almost never going to see NFL WR's that open.

    Shaheed got a 2 year, $6.2 mil deal as an ERFA. ERFA price for one year would be $1.145 mil for Coker. I do think we sign him to a short term deal but it may not be at the prices you guys are talking about. That's not very common.

    Yeah, Ikey and BC have major injuries is bad because it creates two big holes that we weren't anticipating having to fill. But, overall we did know even before the season started that there was a ton of work needed on the roster. We still have at least three good to very good offseasons of work for this to be a good roster, IMO.

    Depends on price. Also, upgrading via the draft is very cheap. Cheaper than extending him on a starting deal. This is something that is long overdue.

    If we can keep him at a reasonable deal as an IOL backup, that would be outstanding. We do have to upgrade there though. He is a below average NFL starting center.

    Honestly, that very well may have been in the equation. I wouldn't be shocked to see it. It will be even more funny if they overdraft Simpson. Another Alabama QB bust created immediately.

    There is no potential path for Chambliss to be a 1st round pick. He is a mid-round guy, at best.

    Or how about Michael Bates? Man, I miss that MFer. 5x Pro Bowler and 2x AP with us as KR. Or even prime Steve Smith at PR. People forget he was a Pro Bowler and first team AP as a rookie at PR.

    Yep. Raiders might get a LOT of tempting calls now. Edit: Side note, this is the kind of move directly tied to kid's getting paid. It isn't a big financial risk to remain in school and develop.

    No he definitely hasn't. At all. The trade downs have been as big a disaster as the trade ups. It's not the decisions to do so as much as they immediately squander all the trade resources on bad players. Typically while passing on very good players.

    Yep. Our coaching staff is way too dumb to have started XL, Coker and AT.

    100%. It's about planning for the future, having flexibility and contingent players. Worst case scenario(provided the pick is sound) is that you have too many good OT's.

    Yes but you are probably looking at Moton off the cap in 2027 and SHOULD be looking at Hunt off the cap, as well. The big monkey wrench will be QB and possibly LT, because even if we jettison Ikey, something has to be done at the position.

    I think Moton is likely gone in 2027, pending whatever happens at LT. We need to be planning for the future and draft a good LT/swing OT/RT. Give yourself flexibility or it will be another panic move and spending wildly to plug a critical hole.

    He is a below average starter but we have had far worse and not that long ago at the position. As I said, I am fine keeping him but he should be a reserve and we should be drafting his replacement.
