Yeah, but isn't that kind of a data point in itself? Not saying things can't change but it's also not like he(a junior) was able to beat out a good QB(NFL-wise) in Milroe. It's the same core argument(largely correct so far) against the Manning. Not everyone has a Joe Burrow career arc.

Sign PS players to long term deals??? Brother...WTF. I have an alternate idea, how about consistently draft OL and build great depth. This will allow the replacement of guys like Hunt and Lewis and getting those crazy contacts off the books. The organic and smart way. Not spending like drunken sailors for IOL on a BAD football team. That poo is for teams that are a few moves away from being elite or champions.

I mean, at the time that wouldn't have worked for them. The truth is that when they had the biggest advantage in that conversation was also when Notre Dame was at their peak arrogance and revenue stream creation(prior to the Longhorns Network, etc). Notre Dame was just never going to work out. The biggest thing they could have done is go hard AF and try to give insane deals to the premier Big 12 teams. Even then, most of them were eyeing the Big Ten and SEC. The biggest issue with the ACC was betting wrong. Miami and Virginia Tech ended up being disasters. Basically former college football powerhouses that ended up being afterthoughts by the time they arrived. I mean Miami specifically have literally had a total of three double digit win seasons since they joined the ACC in 2004 and two of those are in the past 2 seasons. Virginia Tech just fell apart at the wrong time, although I think Franklin will bring them back to prominence to an extent. Had we had it to do in hindsight, probably taking teams like TCU, Baylor, etc would have been wiser options than some of the moves into the Northeast and getting Miami. But, ultimately, fug all this nonsense. It's the insane greed of college football that killed regional rivalries, college basketball and entire storied, REGIONAL conferences. That is the real blame. The thirst for the destruction of all college sports which sits squarely at the feet of the slobbering, ignorant rednecks and hillbillies at the top of the college football sphere.

Chinn is just kind of a player that is only useful in very certain systems and in very certain ways. Outside that, he really struggles in coverage and he is really too small to be a true, every down LB. It sucks because I think we all loved him and that rookie season was unbelievable.

I think he is just one of those guys that is an athlete and not really a football player. Well the NFL grind does a REALLY good job of weeding those guys out.

Why don't we just wait for his all to play out? It's gonna be pretty clear in one week.

Yep. No resale. They can barely fill a stadium in LA. -
Brother, Pavia has played QB in college since 2020.

Yes, all your impressive wins against SMU and Louisville really showed the powerhouse you guys are with your awful QB.

Mike White isn't a better QB. He is just an extremely unprepared, different bad QB. I am not against the move but it would look bad internally and externally to basically sign a really, really, REALLY bad street FA QB to start over your entire depth chart at QB in the middle of a "playoff hunt." I understand the logic of why you would want to see a different terrible QB but I also understand how difficult that would be to do at this point in the season. After mathematical elimination, it should be "fug it" territory. Start Dowdle at QB for all I care.

I am old enough to remember shareware, freeware, etc. You know, the era of "one time" fees? -

It sounded like that. Another money scam app. I never understood those things. Microtransaction gaming is a disease. -
Alabama has proven to be an exceedingly poor place to develop as a QB. It's a good place to get INTO the NFL but not succeed. If he wants to develop, the NFL or a better college program(specifically for QB development, not college success) would be the best path. It's very hard to develop in college football unless you are super self motivated. It's a crazy tax on your time with school included.

Top five ranked conference champions. This includes G5.

James Madison would be behind either North Texas or Tulane.

WTF is an Emo Mega Knight? -
Same poo FSU tried to pull while getting a historic beating and then promptly going 7-17 overall and 3-13 in the ACC since. I for one am glad to see all the "WE ARE THE REAL POWER" ACC crybabies get their just desserts. That includes Clemson, who got a little chirpy about leaving the conference too. Miami had the same rules as all the teams they claim to be better than. No one forced them to lose to Louisville or SMU. No one forced them to struggle against FSU either.

Well there is some pragmatism attached to that viewpoint. Dalton(who I would still rather see) isn't truly an upgrade and it's a little late in the game with options being almost nil to be digging in the unsigned FA scrap heap. Were it mu decision, I'd probably just sign Heinicke and at least try to get a middling backup up to speed for a game or two.

Special Teams is an area where he could actually make a career, if he focuses on doing that well.
