Lions: @Rams, Steelers, @Vikings, @Bears Probably the easiest remaining schedule but two very tough opponents.

Who would sign a 30 year old backup OL with an Achilles tear under those conditions? It's just pointlessly flushing cap money. He didn't garner any free agency interest last offseason so why would be suddenly a hot commodity with a blown Achilles? This makes zero sense.

No, I mean you literally have to pass a physical. There is no sense in signing him until he is healthy. Otherwise you are literally paying a guy that is likely to never play a game that season. That happens to players under previous contract, not unsigned/free agent players. Look at the Lions and their recent attempt to bring Frank Ragnow back. He couldn't pass the physical.

I don't think he will just get Rooney Rule interviews "just because." There has to be some level of at least passing interest.

Yeah, if he was able to be healthy eventually, yes. Possible that we end up signing him at some point during the season when he finally gets healthy again. I don't know if you are aware but he did rupture his Achilles tendon in late Oct. It is unlikely he will be healthy for the entire 2026 offseason and very likely that he misses some or all of the 2026 season.
